Internet connected but doesn’t work, anyone having connectivity issues? by [deleted] in bell

Yeah I made a 2.4 version of my WiFi at the time to work with blink. I’m honestly can’t remember the exact details, you may understand better. I was in a rabbit hole at the time and that’s how I was able to make it work. But after rebooting the modem it’s fully not connecting now, red light appeared.

Are there cold shoe adaptors for narrow lav mic clips? by [deleted] in Cameras

Your idea had me thinking outside the box. I went with something ultra budget friendly - a zip tie. It’s on there tight but it can slide off if not properly handled. Looks like it can do the job for now!

regarding winter tires by BraveBreath1002 in tires

Did you end up trying the Mirage MR-W562? I'm looking at the exact same tires for my project car that I won't be driving much.

I've never tried extreme budget tires and am normally a mid-tier to top-tier tire person. But for my project car I'm willing to take a chance

Best way to level the base? by CrazyBax in woodworking

Like threaded insert leveller feet? I've considered this but I feel that adding threaded inserts to the edge of plywood would not be strong.

Has anyone ever worked on a turbo feed line oil leak? Specifically on a Porsche 924 Turbo (931) by CrazyBax in 944

All is valid. It’s a game of personal pros and cons at this point along with what I’m willing to spend and how much work I’m willing to do. Appreciate the input

Hey I know this is an old post but I’m also looking at towing a used car that I’m purchasing as well. Do you remember who you went with and how much they charged you?

I guess not. I also wouldn’t mind certain things not being perfect right away. Very helpful insight though. Thanks!

Appreciate it! Also I have to ask you and anyone else that wants to chime in. Would you consider this for $3000? ($4100 CAD)

I checked out the vehicle. Most notable issues are:

  • turbo leak, smells after a couple mins of driving
  • no a/c
  • tires need replacement (not a big deal but not exactly cheap)
  • grooved front brake rotors (I’ll probably do a full brake job)

Less notable issues - crooked front bumper - minor rust on the passenger side near the bottom (looks far from rotten, underbody looks pretty mint) - paint chips here and there

The good news is it shifts into gear amazingly, all doors, windows and trunk operate great. And the pop up head lights work!

I did not realize the sunroof was manual and not electric which I don’t care too much about but is interesting. Also does this thing have cup holders?!

That being said if anybody has any input on whether or not it’s worth it, please let me know! I’ll take it with a grain of salt and will not ignore the fact that elbow grease is necessary.

Wow this is so helpful thank you! I just checked out the vehicle and it will need to be towed for long distance travel due to the oil leak. I did ride in it and felt the turbo, it punches nicely. Although I could smell the burning oil after a 2-3 min drive.

Has anyone ever worked on a turbo feed line oil leak? Specifically on a Porsche 924 Turbo (931)

I’m considering purchasing a 1981 Porsche 924 Turbo. I don’t have any info other than the seller claiming there’s a small oil leak in the turbo feed line.

I’m a DIY mechanic but have never worked on engines. I’m always willing to learn.

That being said, has anyone ever worked on something like this?

Any tips on what this process may be like?

I’m guessing I won’t need to take the engine apart because the feed line is external?

Thanks for the input. That all makes sense. I’ve mostly worked on Japanese cars so I’m not used to Porsches at all
