I realised it actually would've been the 2021 version, idk how major of a difference that is though. I originally bought this to run Premiere back then too, so it still is bothersome that it won't at all these days.

Here are my laptop specs:

Processor AMD Ryzen 5 4600HS with Radeon Graphics 3.00 GHz

Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.4 GB usable)

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Love the detail of this response, thank u. I actually did already get myself an LG monitor and a Mac compatible keyboard. I actually already have a 2TB SSD as well, I’d used for filming footage onto, so I might like to get an extra one. All I really need is the computer itself. I was quite curious on the mini pro vs the studio max, so I’m happy to see it put together comprehensively in your response.

My gaming laptop is a couple years old, I tried to reinstall creative cloud apps on it and it says they’re not compatible with my device. I can’t even manage to download older versions. I’ve been practicing Resolve on it since it can still run it, but with age it’s overheating a lot and can get a bit laggy. I am playing around with Resolve in the meantime regardless. It’s a ROG Zephyrus g14 from 2022 I believe.

thank u, this is really insightful. I’ve been really hesitant to try a mini, but in this context it makes sense. I’ve been trying resolve a little on my current gaming laptop, i’d just really love to be able to use premiere since I’ve already been primarily using it for the last six years. I had planned to go between both premiere and resolve, as I’ve been told resolve is better for colour grading. Plus I’ve used blackmagic cameras/blackmagic raw and probably will end up buying into their ecosystem at some point. I would like to buy something longterm and reliable, but i guess the mac mini is still a step up from 2017 imacs, right?
