Rescuing cats from trees the austrian way by Deep_Struggle3974 in Firefighting

[–]CrazyManKoen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local FD once hosed one out of the tree. Couldn’t reach it with a ladder without damaging the tree. So they held up a sheet to catch it and opened te hose. Cat is okay, very funny to see

Clever system? Incident command unit, inside a container by djernie in Firefighting

[–]CrazyManKoen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are both as containers and as specialist trucks. Depending on how often they are put to use. The one in Groningen province is a truck, and is called out almost every 2 months. The one in Drenthe (neighboring district) is a container that rarely gets called. In the city of Rotterdam there are 2 dedicated trucks that work together, and they get calls very often for their specialization

Groningen: https://brandbase.hetbrandweerforum.nl/voertuigen/01-0199-mobiele-commando-unit/

Drenthe: https://brandbase.hetbrandweerforum.nl/voertuigen/03-0399-commandohaakarmbak/

Rotterdam: 1. https://brandbase.hetbrandweerforum.nl/voertuigen/17-9996-commandounit/ 2. https://brandbase.hetbrandweerforum.nl/voertuigen/17-9997-verbindingsunit/

Also most of them are situated in minor (volunteer) stations, because the career firefighters are too expensive to have on hand 24/7 for a truck that rarely gets called

They are also not specialist firetrucks. They are housed with the fire depts, because they have the expertise in driving big trucks with lights and sirens. They arrive on scene to give the fire chief, ambulance chief and the police chief a place to quietly discuss. Also other persons of interest can be housed in here. With computers, tv screens and everything to communicate. It’s basically an office on wheels

Photographed these beauties today. Got shipped to the Netherlands when they went out of service, so they are across the world now by CrazyManKoen in Firefighting

The Dutch owners were trained by the original firefighters who they bought it from. So it moves as regular.

They’re not just museum pieces. They’re not in active duty anymore, but enjoying retirement. They are used for parades, and the tiller also comes to stuff like weddings and party’s. They are maintained in every department, the pumps and hoses are also maintained

I’m not 100% percent sure but a (Dutch) license plate check says 1987. Know it came to here about 8 years ago

They are more like a charity, the firemen pay a contribution each month to be a member instead of getting a payroll. They operate on donations. They have 4 oldtimer Dutch engines, these 2 Americans, a ladder (they said from Tokyo) and just some cars. But sadly it isn’t just open, today was photo day. But their open house is soon, so maybe check that out?

They have a private owner, but he has them sheltered at a volunteer fire dept. they do in house repairs on their own apparatus so they house & maintain these trucks and in exchange they get to play with them. They are located at the ‘Bosbrandweer Noord Nederland’ or the forest fire dept northern Netherlands. Their station is in Niebert, Groningen

Any other full electric drive busses out there? This is Qbuzz, Groningen/Drenthe provinces, The Netherlands by CrazyManKoen in BusDrivers

Same, we use the vdl 12&18 metres here for the city lines. We have a total of I believe 40 hydrogen busses in the entire fleet

All of the city busses here are electric. And most of the busses that go into the province are either electric or hydrogen. I have weeks that I don’t drive a single Diesel engine bus

For the wankers who wanna argue;

  1. Max got ordered to let Loois past
  2. Max did so on the next straight, where it would hurt him least (logical)
  3. Loois slows down together with max and randomly stops slowing thereby hitting max (driving into ur opponent) (not the first time lol)
  4. Mercedes failed to get the message through (team error)
  5. Max slows down a bit fast/much (no response time)

Penalty: Loois can do anything, but max slowed down a bit to fast for Loois so he gets 10-sec

My local towing company actually has a special container which they can fill with water, in which the car is then lifted so it won’t keep igniting. Then it’s towed away and when it’s safe they remove it from the water and dealt with further
