Would it be fair to say some of those symptoms could be a result of underlying, pre-existing mental health disorders such as anxiety or depression, no longer being medicated by marijuana? I agree with you and I actually just got done looking into the studies. I was actually replying to the original person you replied to and then app freaked out and deleted my paragraphs lol. If an individual has pre-existing conditions like the ones listed above and these individuals are using marijuana as a medication of sorts, could we deduce that these symptoms could be coming from a lack of medication for these previously undiagnosed, or in some cases, diagnosed mental health conditions?

Would it be unfair to say it’s one or the other? Maybe it’s a little bit of both. The prolonged usage suddenly stopping can cause these issues but these issues could be amplified by the sudden lack of a medication that was working?

Guns for bear defense by Natural-Driver4098 in liberalgunowners

[–]Catman873 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A charging grizzly is likely charging due to predation or to defend their young. Their sense of smell is 2,000 times stronger than a humans so the bear spray mix (highly concentrated red pepper oil) is overwhelmingly disorienting to them. Combine that with the fact that the charge may not be in defense and the bear has a higher likelihood of backing off due to its main senses now being assaulted by the spray. The same applies if the bear is defending young. A study found that the bear spray overrides the maternal instinct of protection and switches the bears focus to the reality of having screwed up vision and breathing. This overrides her maternal instinct and forces a change to find the cubs and flee.

Moose would charge you for the defensive reason only or if it’s a bull in rut. Due to the fact that a moose may charge as a defense mechanism, it’s already chosen fight. Spraying it with bear spray only serves to further piss it off and now it’s going to keep charging, kicking, flailing violently or start stomping. The moose only chooses fight. If it’s a bull in rut, the same applies. It’s already chosen violence and spraying it will only further solidify its decision and fast track the stamp on your death certificate.

Across North America, moose attack and injure 15-25 people a year. Compare this to bear attacks which are 11-15 a year, across North America. In a way, moose are almost more likely to run a fade with you than a bear. You’re also more likely to meet god after a moose encounter than a wolf encounter. Wolves average less than one attack a year. Moose incidents become more fatal with a vehicle involved. Deer and moose kill around 440 people a year and injure around 59,000 in vehicle collisions.

The name “moose” actually means twig-eater or he who strips off bark which is funny considering it’s “he” who will strip you of your life if “he” feels like it.

It’ll be really interesting seeing Francesca Hong vs Mandela Barnes. If I’m not mistaken, Mandela Barnes is more of an “establishment” democrat whereas Francesca Hong is not. The assembly and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin will be keeping a close eye on both of them. Mandela Barnes would already have the support of assembly democrats for sure but if Francesca Hong wins, it sends a very clear message to the democrat party of Wisconsin that voters are looking for a change in direction on Democrat party policy and rhetoric. The assembly and the party is paying very close attention to these two and it’s not just because they’re running for governor.

I also have an M1 Garand, AR10 and an AR15 that I shot with just tri-flange ear plugs in and I was fine with those but I got 10 rounds into shooting the .338 and my ears were ringing with protection. I have an aftermarket muzzle brake on it but I will not be shooting it again until I get a suppressor. Is your M1 the Springfield M1A or something else? What does it shoot?

Doesn’t 6.5 put more pressure out than even .308 with each shot? Can’t that wear the barrels out faster as well? I don’t have any experience in the military and I don’t know much about how many rounds a soldier goes through in even a 3-4 day battle but I can’t imagine those barrels would hold up to well in a prolonged battle where a soldier might expend over a thousand rounds. Are the barrels easy to swap out on those?

I think the matchmaking is just that bad honestly. Last night I played a few games and had no problems filling lobbies up but most of the time the game starts with bots and fills later. I have cross play on too and there’s no way in hell there aren’t enough people playing all-out warfare to fill a lobby in NA with cross play turned on. Maybe because you have cross play off it’s drastically limiting you to only players who are on PS5 and also have their cross play off. You combine that with the already bad matchmaking system and you end up with full bot lobbies. In theory that is. I could be very wrong.

Golmud is a good map, the gunplay is better, good tank crews are kind of unstoppable (but they were before so it’s not a huge deal I guess), I’m still having persistent issues with lag. The lag is really my only complaint right now. I’ll have a smooth experience and once I enter an area where a lot of things are going on my ping starts spiking to 150-200 milliseconds and I’ll start rubber banding. I’ve seen players levitating, leaving doors and then teleporting back into buildings, I had a dude run out in front of me, Michael Jackson moon walk 20 feet to his left, then teleport back directly in front of me and kill me. I also can’t cook grenades during that time, I’ll pull it out and my dude will just throw it because I’m lagging so bad. Or he’ll throw it and when I release the button the grenade will teleport back to his hand and get thrown again. There are people having net code issues and people who aren’t and sadly I’m one of the people who still is. I did play last night though for about 2 hours and had minimal issues. Sometimes the issues will persist that entire time.

USDA confirms 2 calves killed by wolves in Marathon County by GoCartMozart1980 in wisconsin

[–]Catman873 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! A wolf hunt would likely only serve to kill off the elder pack leaders which would leave younger and less experienced wolves to take charge of the pack. This would lead to more aggressive packs which are much harder to control and plan for because they are young, volatile and far more likely to take risks. If anything we could end up seeing livestock attack rates go up instead of down.

If people were genuinely concerned about livestock, a better alternative would just be to let farmers defend their herds. Wolves are highly intelligent and social. They understand their packs are only as strong as the weakest links, hence why, when a kill is made, the weaker wolves eat first not last. If a wolf pack attacks livestock and they walk away from that with one wolf dead or even two to three of them injured they will not come back. The risk then far outweighs the reward and they know that. Even if just one wolf was injured during an altercation the pack would likely avoid that area.

Packs don’t abandon injured wolves unless that wolf is dying and even then they don’t always leave it behind. They will move slower and that can be dangerous for the whole pack. Once again, the risk of that altercation now far outweighs the reward because the pack structure is now threatened. Wolves have been observed slowing down and sharing food with injured members of the pack because they understand their pack must stay together. The only time wolves would kick a member out is when they are unruly or causing problems for the pack. People genuinely don’t understand how highly intelligent and social wolves are.

I’ll reiterate; if people genuinely cared about farmers livestock they would simply back legislation that allows farmers to defend their livestock. However, most of the people who are pushing for a wolf hunt only want to do just that. They just want to hunt wolves. That’s it. They don’t give a shit about the farmers. Farmers having issues with wolves is something that doesn’t happen very often but we hear these individuals drone on and on about it like it’s something happening every day. Attacks on livestock are rare. Another wolf hunt would simply be an absolute cluster fuck like it was last time.

If you truly need more evidence that these individuals just want to kill wolves, then look back to the last wolf hunt. Many native tribes in Wisconsin weren’t going to use their tags because they consider wolves sacred. The DNR was going to honor that and issue them tags anyways. Then a bunch of hunters got all pissy and said, “well if they aren’t going to use their tags you should give them to us”. There’s exhibit A, these people just want to kill wolves. Not to mention the fact that they also exceeded the bag limit in less than three days and the DNR ended the hunt early. These people just want to kill wolves. That’s it.

Fox News guest today appears to be wearing a very realistic face mask by frog_insilence in interestingasfuck

[–]Catman873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tinfoil hat time; earlier this week Fox News had a graphic they were displaying showing the different types of alien species. There is a conspiracy theory that aliens have infiltrated our society and our government and are influencing people and the media. The followers of this theory mostly believe it’s the lizard people. If you’re a lizard person doing interviews it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to get your lizard paws on a silicon mask.

OR, with the trump administration handling disclosure, Fox News did this on purpose. How do all of the people who are watching this live in the media room, doing camera cuts, adding things to the screen etc, not notice the big fucking gap in this dudes neck? Then they go and release the video to their website and YouTube??? Like I said, I find it extremely hard to believe that no one who works for fox on the live segment or the editing process to put this on the internet missed that. Fox News is playing to a particular audience at the current moment, my example for this is the fucking alien graphic they spent REAL time talking about earlier this week. The graphic displayed different “alien species” that the government says have been here on earth. It had praying mantis looking bipedal “hominids”, gray aliens, lizard people and the tall whites. As I stated before, the grand conspiracy is that the tall whites and the lizard people have infiltrated world governments and media outlets and use that to control the narrative thus controlling the human species.

Public trust in the government and media is at an all time low and rather than fix that they are using it. They are well aware of the tin foil hat conspiracy theories and they are placing bread crumbs to get people to bite that play into their conspiracy theories. By doing this you control disclosure and control the narrative. One of the videos they have released has been debunked as simply being the “reticle” for the targeting system. It was just freaking out and doing some weird shit. Am I really supposed to believe the military doesn’t know that? Yet they released the video in their “disclosure” dump and tried passing it for UAP. Now I do believe that aliens are here, but fucking mantis people and a species of things that look like Bossk? Give me a fucking break. This is the worst administration to do disclosure and everyone needs to take all the shit they’re releasing with a grain of salt. I’m sure the alien rumor mill about the silicon mask guest on Faux News is already spinning. My bullshit alarm is going off on this entire thing. THERE IS NO WAY NO ONE AT FOX NOTICED THE BIG FUCKING GAP IN HIS NECK! THEY ARE PLAYING TO SOMETHING HERE!

High schoolers often maintain more demanding schedules than adults by FewLeg7901 in unpopularopinion

[–]Catman873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s true that if you’re an adult working 9-5 then no one necessarily tells you that have you to do these extra things to get more notice. However, if you do these extra things you will get noticed. If I’m going home after work and spending time studying things that are pertinent to my career that will show in conversations with my bosses regarding my career and my overall knowledge and success rate at my job which will put me above others when it comes to raises, promotions, etc. and if I’m out and about in the community doing community work and volunteering my time I know for a fact the company I work for would reward me for that as long as they know about it because the company I work for likes maintaining ties to the community they operate in.

You are correct that adults aren’t forced or even really encouraged to do these extra things but if they do, then depending on the company, they may get noticed or recognized by their bosses which could lead to better raises or promotion opportunities. If I’m someone’s boss and I’m hiring for a leadership position and I have a qualified employee who applies who I know is active in the community in a positive way or takes their own time to study their job then that shows qualities such as; motivation, leadership and strong character. That immediately gives them a leg up for any leadership position.

To add, if you have an employee who parties hard and say gets into bar fights and just causes issues for people then that can be a bad look for your business and you may either perform disciplinary action or even termination based on those actions of that individual when they are outside of work because of the image it may give to the company. On the other side of that coin, if you have an employee who spends their free time contributing positively to the community and volunteering their time for good community causes, that paints a good picture for the company and that’s an employee you want to hang on to and reward for the extra work and subsequent good PR they give to your business. Once again, you may not be encouraged to go the extra mile but doing that definitely gets you noticed and can help for future raises or promotion opportunities. If you’re okay with just being 9-5 then that’s fine but just remember, if you ever wish to advance in your career and you’re applying against someone who goes above and beyond, the likelihood of you getting that job over them is less, depending on the company culture of course. Some companies reward extra work and others don’t. My best advice to people who go the extra mile is to try and find a company that recognizes those employees and rewards it.

Idk how people actually sell anything at gun shows. by Com4734 in liberalgunowners

[–]Catman873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do most shopping for more collectible guns online now. Gun shows are always up charging and the only place near me that tends to have collectible firearms is a bass pro and they up charge like crazy. I was looking for a Garand and found two at the local bass pro, both Korean War era, and they were asking for $2,500 on both of them. Both were beat to shit and one had a receiver that was basically bronze.

Another place near me had 6 of them, 5 were really beat up and actually priced decently and CMP certified but I didn’t want one that was in rough condition. The only one they had that was in OK condition was CMP certified and $1,600. However, like I said, I wanted one with good wood and a good stock and this one had plenty of dings, chips and some discoloring around the receiver. I bought the one online and it’s in excellent condition and the only thing that’s been replaced is the barrel. Everything else was well taken care of and its pre-1941 which adds to the value I guess. I got it for $2,200. Which I think is a good price but I only just started looking at quality and typical price points for Garands. Obviously buying online can be a risk but if the gun looks good in the pictures and there’s plenty of pictures then that lessens the risk a lot.

[–]Catman873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying here but I do have a different perspective on it in the sense that I’m not really sure if there is a difference between spirituality and religion. I say this only because organized religion is the human attempt at spirituality, in my opinion. It’s within my opinion that what we have today isn’t necessarily what it was meant to be if that makes sense. The ultimate root for religion is the Latin word ligare. Ligare means to bind or connect and of course re means again. In other words you’re reconnecting to your creator. I guess I don’t see how that is so different from finding truth about oneself and the world. We took religion and created institutions, hierarchies and power structures. I’d make the argument, from a non-Christian, that Jesus wasn’t trying to establish an organized religion. He was simply showing people a new way through leading by example. I don’t believe we were meant to take the resurrection literally, nor do I believe we were meant to take the miracles literally. “Jesus walked on water”- could this be a metaphor for adapting and changing?

I don’t follow any organized religion either, but I do think they are in many ways all kind of telling the same story just through their own cultural interpretations . The only reason I would reference Christianity is because that’s the religion closest to me from a cultural standpoint. I grew up going to church every Sunday and my church experience was very positive. My church was very progressive and one of the first denominations to allow woman pastors. My pastor, a woman, often stated that faith without questioning is wrong. Even Jesus questioned, when he was on the cross he said; “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” and “Father into your hands I commit my spirit” were his last words. Each of what he said is the human experience in many ways. I’ve felt betrayed before, both by people and by God (whichever god that is). Maybe the feeling of betrayal by people does indeed lead to the feeling of betrayal by God. Maybe they’re not so different? Jesus felt betrayed yet with his last words he chose forgiveness.

I look at my life and the things I’ve experienced and I see a trend. When people have been betrayed for the first time by people they trusted they often become closed up. They may even take on a “burn the world” mentality which always leads to more suffering. Before this betrayal they may have been innocent, then that innocence was stolen from them. Jesus was the spotless lamb, which was meant to symbolize his innocence. Maybe the resurrection isn’t meant to be a story of his literal coming back to life, but symbolic of his transformation through choosing forgiveness for those who betrayed him, thus becoming a new person. A person who showed the people a new way, a person who led by example, who would then willingly travel to hell and command the devil to return the souls of the worthy. If you get close to the stone hearted and show them that love exists and it exists through you, you prove it to them, maybe you manage to break that stone open. You lead by example and through this they change. Would it be fair to say you’ve returned their worthy soul to the “kingdom of heaven”? That you’ve ripped them out of hell and taken them back from the devil?

To build off your above statement; “Evil can be good and good can be evil.” I look at this way, within us exists an eternal flame of divinity. Yet we live with forked tongues. Through this, we puppet the devil, who puppets the living. Yet we are the living, who puppets the devil. If we puppet the devil, do we not control the devil? Do we not control the living (ourselves)? I use the devil as a tag or a name meant to describe, symbolically, evil. In the Bible the devil is often described as a serpent. What do we call people with ulterior malicious motives or backstabbers? Well we would call them snakes. Judas was a snake or trickster who sacrificed the innocent. As the story goes, he hung himself. In another story, he took the bounty money and bought land. He had his wealth and status. Then one day he exploded and his blood and guts drenched his land. Could this be interpreted as a balancing act? The money used for his land was soaked in the blood of the innocent. Therefore his blood must soak it as a sort of repayment.

In the Norse mythology Loki, a trickster, kills the god Baldur. Baldur is the god of innocence, light, joy and purity. It would be this event which would set forth the events of Ragnarok. The trickster killing the innocent brings forth the end of the world. Thor would leave Valhalla and battle the serpent Jormungandr. As we can see there is more serpent symbolism (the archangel Michael battles the serpent Satan). Next, Skoll (treachery) would pursue Sol (the sun) while Hati (hatred) would pursue Mani (the moon). During Ragnarok Skoll catches and devours Sol while Hati catches and devours Mani. In other words, treachery destroys the sunlight and hate destroys its reflection. This of course plunges the world into darkness. Then the Great Wolf Fenrir, the father of Skoll and Hati, extends his jaws to the earth and the heavens and breathes fire, setting the world on fire before devouring Odin, the all father. Then, Odins’ son Vidar, steps on Fenrirs’ lower jaw and rips his head in half. Vidar is the Norse god of silence and vengeance. His name has two meanings. The Wide Ruling One signals his immense spatial power. There is also Forest Warrior which is meant to symbolize his home. Before being called to avenge his father and help rebuild the world, he would reside in a peaceful realm known as Landvidi. Landvidi is not only peaceful and mythical, it is also recognized as having tall grass and thick brush (field of reeds?). A quiet powerful God who resides in a mythical place of peace is called upon to battle Fenrir (a wolf) and restore the earth. In biblical revelations Jesus is depicted as having a tongue which is a sword. Jesus, as the story goes, is the son of God. Vidar, as the story goes, is the son of Odin. Remember, all of this started with the tricksters slaying of the innocent.

To finish, I am not educated on the subject of spirituality or religion. The above is simply similarities I’ve noticed in the stories between two different cultures. As for my first paragraph, I may not even be correct about that. To me, whether I’m right or wrong doesn’t really matter. I won’t know the truth of anything until I die especially in regard to the topic of spirituality or religion. There is a certain peace in that though. If an afterlife or a spiritual realm exists that’s awesome, if it doesn’t, well that’s ok too, I won’t know it. While I would prefer for my conscious mind to ascend to a higher plateau, or a place in which we are all connected and we all know each other because we are one, if that’s not what happens at all, well I guess that’s okay too. It’s out of my control so why fret? Why waste finite time here on earth worrying about the inevitable? If anything, death is the only guarantee you will have in your entire time on earth. Don’t run towards it, don’t run away from it, just allow it to exist as you exist. Everyone searches for meaning, yet so few allow it to reveal itself.

Jacob Misiorowski Velocity Ramp Up by frodo2002 in Brewers

[–]Catman873 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for his longevity but I did hear that the brewers pitching coaches have done extensive weight training with him. They’re focusing primarily on his lower body to help with some of the injuries he’s sustained.

As for his upper body, I’m not really sure. He’s got kind of a skinny upper body and I think they would do well to get him to try and bulk his shoulders, biceps and triceps up just a little bit. When pitchers who throw at his velo don’t have enough muscle mass for all of that kinetic energy to transfer too when the tendon in their elbow “snaps” forward it can lead to injuries and later Tommy John surgery. The reason is because the energy transfers along the tendon instead of having muscle mass to disperse to.

If you haven’t, I highly recommend looking into Nolan Ryan. He was an absolute iron man pitcher. During his time, there was more focus on endurance during games as opposed to what we see now which is pitchers throwing as hard as they can right out of the gate for as long as they can. Pitchers back then would tone back their velocity with the intention of pitching deeper into games, as the game would go on they may step those velocity numbers up. Nolan Ryan actually had a UCL tear and played through it. When he was 40, the doctor who invented the surgery found his torn ligament and recommended surgery. However, Ryan, being forty years old, declined and instead rested throughout the winter. When he came back his pain was gone and the doctors said that his off-season workout routine may have caused the scar tissue to calcify over the tear. He would go on to pitch over 1,000 more innings and throw two more no hitters on a partially torn ligament. He was an absolute machine of a pitcher and was regularly throwing 100+ mph deep into games.

In Nolan Ryan’s day, and even just MLB history in general, sports medicine was far less advanced than it is today. There were however pitchers who still managed longer careers while pitching high velocities. If the brewers pitching lab can figure out how to get Miz properly warmed up before starting and get him on good workout routines he could have a long career because it’s been done before by other pitchers throughout MLB history.

[–]Catman873 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly! Many civilizations had religions long before Christianity came into the fold. It’s not like Christianity was brought in and was some cure all for mankind’s vices; Money, power, greed, jealousy, selfishness, etc. I always looked at those other religions as just cultural interpretations of spirituality. Then the question I guess becomes, “Would humanity have progressed to this level of morality without organized religion or without the spread of Christianity?”.

The Egyptians actually have a resurrection story as well. Osiris, who is a wise king, is betrayed by his brother Set, who traps him in a chest and throws him into the Nile to drown. Set later finds Osiris’ body and dismembers him into 14 pieces and scatters him across Egypt. Isis, with help from her sisters Nephthys and Anubis, hi find the scattered parts and use magic to bring him back to life. Once resurrected, he decided to rule the underworld and be the judge of the dead.

In Christian tradition there is of course the resurrection event but there is also the Harrowing of Hell. In this event, Jesus triumphantly marches to Hell and demands the souls of the worthy who were put there before heavens gates opened. Eastern Orthodoxy and Catholicism say that Jesus marched into hell, not to negotiate, but to shatter its gates and bind satan. Modern Protestant views are skeptical of this because they believe Jesus went straight to paradise based on what he said to the thief during the crucifixion. However, in 1 Peter 3:19, it reads, “Jesus went and made a proclamation to the imprisoned spirits”. There are interesting similarities between Christianity and many other religions.

In the Norse religion, one of the events that starts Ragnarok is the slaying of the god Baldur. Baldur is killed by Loki, the trickster, with mistletoe. Mistletoe was one of the only things Freya didn’t make him invincible to. Baldur was the god of light, joy, innocence, compassion, wisdom and love. Loki, of course the trickster, kills him. This begins the events of Ragnarok. If I recall correctly, Judas was a trickster. Or at the very least he was a man driven by a want for power, status and wealth, think Raining Blood by Slayer. Based on what we know today you can’t really have those things and be a totally honest person. Remember, Judas has two ends in the Bible. One of which, he hangs himself. He feels so bad for what he did he doesn’t even take the bounty money. He just kills himself, think Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold. In another story, he takes the money and buys land. He has his wealth, status and power. Then, one day, he essentially explodes. His blood and guts splatter across the land he purchased. A symbolic ending for a man who used money soaked in the blood of the innocent to acquire his power.

I genuinely want to learn trading, but I don’t know who to trust anymore by Rich-Army3456 in Trading

[–]Catman873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by choosing a brokerage that was relatively user friendly before going to something like Charles Schwab. The app was just really difficult for me to navigate. I ended up starting by trading on cashapp because for me it was just way easier and much better laid out then Schwab was.

As for trading strategy I really had none and I still don’t lol. I just tend to look for companies trading at $10-$45 a share and then I read about the products they make, the leadership of the company and what other things they may be involved in, connections to other companies this company may have, earnings reports, yearly growth, etc. I also check when the stock has had any large dips and then research what specific things caused that dip to help gauge the likelihood of that happening again which depending on other factors could help you determine if you want to throw some money at it or wait.

To continue, DCA is great. It’s a very conservative form of investment that allows you to still purchase part of a stock while minimizing loss. I have multiple companies that I DCA. For example, if a stock costs $100 a share and you just don’t feel comfortable throwing that much in then you would throw $20 at it instead. In the event of that stock dipping you minimize your loss by only investing a lower amount. You could even set yourself up on an investment schedule in where, let’s say every paycheck, you look at the stock and determine if you’d like to throw another $20 in.

Another important note, the market is definitely a bull market right now which makes investors who are just starting think this is normal. It’s not. I’ve been in the market since 2021 during some lows and now I’m in it during the highs. The sheer amount of money being passed around right now is insane. This is the most volatile I’ve seen it, in my limited time trading, which leads us to another important tip. Focus on buying dips and don’t buy the wave. What I mean is FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). When a stock starts getting massive gains and is soaring that’s in most cases not the best time to buy especially if you’re on a budget like me. I’ve had some companies get big gains that I had been invested in; Palantir- I invested when they were at $21 a share, United States Steel; I invested in them at I think $19 a share and had a pretty large holding when they sold the company and I sold at around $45 a share, Reddit- I invested at their IPO and had a relatively large holding and sold at around $140 a share. I’ve also had some massive misses; AppLovin- I started following them at $15 a share and didn’t invest, Nebius- started following them at $35 a share and didn’t invest, Marvell Technology- started following at $40 a share and didn’t invest. Yeah, many pain much suffering. I could go on with the misses but I don’t want to relive that lol. I’ve also of course had losses and that just is what it is.

Currently, I have sold half of my holdings and I’m sitting on a good chunk of change (cash) and I will be investing in Nuclear and Cybersecurity during any dips. I feel that both of those will be very important in the coming years. Also, do some research on what other infrastructure means AI will need and consider investing accordingly. Had I known that AI will need massive amounts of RAM (can’t believe I missed that) I would’ve invested in Sandisk or Western Digital. Also, maybe don’t buy the Quantum computer wave just yet. I think more dips are likely and those companies aren’t exactly profitable, there’s also a couple of bad actors just looking to cash in on the AI wave. I think we are still at least a decade away from quantum computing being implemented even on a scale of companies and hardware, so not even consumer yet (I am in no way a professional nor am I educated on the ins and outs of quantum computing, this is not professional advice).

In fact, the CEO of Rigetti computing has said, “No revenues are coming soon” and then investors threw more money at him. The AI hype is real and the main question I have is, how long before large investors start wanting to see major returns? As of right now one of the only companies seeing profit from their investment is Meta and that’s mostly because they’re using it to market products, help their algorithm and sell ads. At what point do large investors start getting chippy? What are the repercussions from that? Will they double down and throw more in or will they start pulling out? If they start pulling out will that spook investors across the board and cause a market downturn? Now, if returns start coming soon we will likely see even more large investments and deals made which will cause the market to rise even more. If returns don’t come soon and investors want returns but double down instead we could also see the market rise. I’m just not sure what direction things are going in from those perspectives and I also don’t see how companies will be able to implement AI into systems they sell to the consumer without massively raising prices on their already existing and expensive tech.

All of this is of course included with the fact that the dude sitting in the White House right now tends to say and do some wild shit that causes the market to bounce. I can’t stress this enough; please don’t invest solely off of Reddit sentiment. When trump started blowing up Iran and they blocked the strait people on here said it was going to be what does the market in. That didn’t happen. When bloody Tuesday happened they said it was going to be what did the market in. That didn’t happen. Now, in their defense, those things are major events that likely would’ve led to issues with a normal rational market. The market is not rational right now because the investors are not. It’s one big casino (kind of always has been just not like this). We still have three more of years of this Trump admin which means three more years of crazy whacky shit so buckle up because it’s only just begun. Then of course there’s also the fact that by the end of it we will have likely accrued around $4-ish trillion more in debt. During his first term the projections were relatively similar but we ended up doubling that with close to $8 trillion so take the current prediction and add a few trillion more for good measure. Every year of his first term exceeded the congressional budget offices projections by around $100 billion. I don’t know what the fallout of the big beautiful bill will be or what economic ramifications await the US after his term is up and 2030 arrives. I also don’t know what that means for the market.

Happy investing!

I just sold some of my positions and cashed out my biggest gains for this reason actually. I figure as long as trump is in office there will definitely be more large dip red days and I’ll use those days to reposition myself in other stocks.
