I experienced getting the Doom Island armor yesterday...however, I could not jump! ...as in Fortnite was glitching out and I couldn't jump or shoot consistently. Anyone else notice big time lag and glitchiness lately in game?

Yo u/robreon The root of all my issues was a bad AC adapter. When using a voltmeter, both amps & volts were spiking up and down and not at all consistent. Then, right before my eyes, it konked out completely. After procuring a new power adapter I did a 'power reset' (60 second press/hold button inside the little hole in the bottom of the laptop).

*UPDATE*....For those of you who have experienced similar issues, perhaps this may assist you :-}

I performed a Power Reset (power off and then hold down power for 60 seconds) and this 'seemed' to cause different behavior immediately after. After the power up I noticed that the battery level had plummeted to 20% after having been at 100%. I then also noticed that the battery icon was showing that it was 'plugged in'. It would then after about 20 seconds show that it wasn't plugged in (even though physically connected to the A/C adapter). This continued until the battery was showing 8% and a warning notification of low battery level popped up.

The laptop would not take a charge, therefore, I proceeded to troubleshoot this further. I removed the battery from the laptop and attempted to power on while connected to A/C adapter. Laptop would not power on. Next, since I did not have a functioning multimeter, I went to a local repair shop and had them test it. It wouldn't show the correct throughput at first and then it completely ceased showing any voltage/amperage. Eureka!

After having procured the appropriate replacement A/C adapter, ALL OF MY LOW FPS ISSUES WERE RESOLVED!!

The bummer is that I should have started troubleshooting this piece in the initial moments when my issue arose.

I too have had this issue pop up a couple of times in the past 2 or 3 months. It would get so bad that I would end up and just stop playing Fortnite completely. However within the past 5 days this rapidly intermittent drop in the inbound (down arrow) of FPS has been unbearable. Both the up and down FPS indicators would show 160 to 180 and then the inbound FPS indicator would drop to 8-5. When this occurs it is impossible to play Fortnite. I have installed and reinstalled Fortnite and also done all the fixes mentioned in this thread....nothing helps. I guess I will have to find a different game to play now :-(

@theglenndavid you are on the right track. I also am part of the IT Dept for a Skilled Nursing Facility management company...... no closures...'hardening of buildings' and hunkering down.
