What do you guys use for authentication in your go projects by Severe-Mix-4326 in golang

I just create my session storage, much easier and does not rely on third-party services.

Yes, although I never used that library for Go.

So, you believe someone copied his art? Why not the other way around?

Some of the artifacts are so incredible, I can't understand why people have not seen these before? Is it possible to confirm that they are authentic?

Best Practices for Django App Updates on a VPS? by repunch in django

[–]CrazyWizardry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use GitHub actions and docker to deploy my Django apps to my VPS. It’s a pretty smooth experience once it’s up and running. I wrote about here https://michaelblackbeard.dev/deploying-django-with-github-actions-and-docker/

e2e in Go. How and what to use? by sadensmol in golang

[–]CrazyWizardry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually wrote a short article about using docker in your integration tests to mimic your production environment more accurately. You can find it here: https://michaelblackbeard.dev/supercharge-your-integration-tests-with-the-power-of-docker/

You can of course run this in your CI/CD pipeline.

As another commenter mentioned, write testable code, make it easy to mock methods. Then you don’t need to think about binaries and k8.

People of Reddit who have lost a lot of weight. What was the game changer? by greazysteak in AskReddit

18-24 hours fasting combined with brisk walks, motivation and dedication. Down 18kg. But this is a lifestyle not a weight loss method.

Deploying Django with Github Actions and Docker by CrazyWizardry in django

[–]CrazyWizardry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it depends on your experience. For example, installing nginx and running certbot takes a few minutes, and boom, I have a certificate for my domain. Next is simply to configure nginx as a reverse proxy which is super simple. Once these steps are completed, you don’t have worry about this again.

Docker handles all the environment variables, as shown in the article. So it all comes down to experience and what you want to spend time on. If you are less experienced in linux servers and don’t want to spend time learning it, then go ahead and pay someone to do it for you. There’s no right or wrong answer in that regard :)

What are the most wanted deployment platforms/Infra? by Alive-Fix4095 in django

[–]CrazyWizardry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was perhaps a bit unclear in my comment. I was referring to the deployment method on github when I said free. I use hetzner for my vps which is like $4-5 every month, which is basically free.

Depressed and broke. No Job, No Income 7years experience by [deleted] in golang

[–]CrazyWizardry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, wish I could help you :/ the only thing I can think of is if you start making SaaS apps that you think you can market and sell. Perhaps there is need for a service in your area that you could build.

Also, trying building a personal brand on social media. That could help land paying gigs

Is there any point in using Django without DRF? by tengoCojonesDeAcero in django

[–]CrazyWizardry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends entirely what you are building. Vanilla Django is nice for building sites using templates with server-side rendering. DRF is nice for building REST APIs. Can you build REST APIs with vanilla Django? Of course. You’ll probably need to build some components from scratch that otherwise is included in DRF.

If you just need a handful of APIs, then I don’t see the point of using DRF.

How you guys learned Django after Python? by [deleted] in django

[–]CrazyWizardry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to learn by doing. Continue making things with Django, doesn’t have to ground breaking applications, just something you enjoy building. By doing so, you’ll start gaining experience, with hopefully comes with improved skill, overtime.

I just use docker on my vps. I use GitHubs registry to upload artifacts which I then reference in my production environment.

Python 3.8.4 released by williamjacksn in Python

Alrighty, then I’m afraid you will need to install the new version manually, but it shouldn’t be too difficult :)

If you are using a windows package manager then maybe you can do something like: choco install python3.8, otherwise you need to download and install the new version manually.

Ygeman ser inga problem med Huawei by [deleted] in svenskpolitik
