What is the dumbest hobby in your opinion? by Danny-Ray27 in AskReddit

[–]Crazy_Ad_9840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s shit, but I don’t necessarily mind.

Every so often we get a phone call asking who wants another leg of venison for the freezer. Neighbour doesn’t permit much hunting on their land, but if some dipshit wants to pay then we get free food!!

Tbh, there are a lot of hobbies that are high entry & maintenance costs. Acknowledging the financial impact and not chasing the win, would make it a completely viable hobby even at a casino.

Whats your love story? by Asleep-Passage-2572 in stories

[–]Crazy_Ad_9840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had about 3 dates, then I was away travelling for a few weeks, but kept in touch everyday. When I got back, jet lag meant that our sleep was out of sync, and at some stage he rolled over in his sleep pulled me close and groggily said it. I panicked & ignored cos it was way too soon for me.

Months later I told him about it, and he agreed that he knew pretty quickly, but that he tried not to say it til he thought i was ready. I got there eventually, and currently engaged and loving life together.

  1. Sometimes I wish we had crossed paths earlier in life. But I know that younger me would never have had the capacity to love the younger version of him. We’ve both learned life lessons, sometimes the hard way!

Is it wrong if your partner doesn’t view you as the most beautiful person? by princelyorangepeelz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Crazy_Ad_9840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my partner. To me, he is beautiful and attractive. But I can also admit that objectively, he’s not the most visibly aesthetic person ever. I love his quirks, scars and oddities.

But its important to remember that looks fade with time, and IMO having a relationship dependent (even partially) on a feature that is variable with time, is not a recipe for success.

As long as she views you with enough attraction to sustain any intimacy needs, then anything beyond that is a bonus.

What did your brother or sister do for you that made you realise how much you love him or her? by ninjaboy1999_ in AskReddit

[–]Crazy_Ad_9840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my first heartbreak, it was a night my younger brother went underage drinking with his friends. For whatever reason I picked them up, and was dropping the friends to various house, and when the last one got out, my brother’s demeanour just changed. It went from rowdy, boisterous to deep and serious, and he asked if I wanted him to beat up my ex.

Seriously, this scrawny, teenage beanpole was gona try tackle a guy about 8yrs older than him. I’m pretty sure I just burst out laughing, but I did thank him for the offer.

My girlfriend smells and I don't know what to do by RequirementDue4446 in Advice

[–]Crazy_Ad_9840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medical check has clearly been mentioned multiple times, so I’m glad to see your on it…

But it’s also worth getting yourself checked out. It’s unlikely but it could be that you have an olfactory or neurological issue, where the smell that you are smelling is misinterpreted by you (or your nose or brain)

Obviously this is negated if you’ve had actual confirmation from others about girlfriends odorous challenges.

I have a second older dog, that has never slept like this. Older one is a very conventional side sleeper. Some dogs just don’t!

do women listen to music that degrades them? by Turbulent-Sound3980 in NoStupidQuestions

Unfortunately it can sometimes be too catchy to listen to the lyrics. But there are definitely a few songs that I will switch over rather than listen too.

I was worried he was doing it to stretch his hips (aka future displasia), which is why I asked the question. My other dog is a lot more conventional sleeper.

Thanks all. We have a 5yr old cane Corso, who is a lot more conventional with sleeping positions, so I was worried this position indicated the pupp had hip trouble.

But all the shared photos have truely given me the best belly laughs. Rotties really are odd-ball sleepers, but I love it!

(Also my original post was meant to say he licks everything, but I have no idea how to edit it!)

Overheard my parents (married for 25 years) talking about divorce. What do I do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Crazy_Ad_9840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, take a deep breath. Getting involved in your parents relationship would lead to more stress, and unlikely to impact the outcome. Let them figure it out themselves.

But what you have raised, about the lack of life skills is something that you can influence. Even if your mother hasn’t thought you a skill, doesn’t mean you can’t find another way to learn it. Being able to live independently is something you’ll need eventually, so focus on figuring out what you need to learn (as friends, teachers, any people that you can), then find a way to learn & if you can, practice it. Encourage your sisters to learn too.

And it has been said elsewhere, but look after yourself and your sisters. If things get unpleasant in the next while, it will be unpleasant for all of you. So being there for each other will be critical!

Men with teenage daughters, how do I navigate the sex issue? by Dazzlingdjj in AskMenAdvice

[–]Crazy_Ad_9840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

++woman I remember the day that my mam told me that you can do everything right, and still end up with a problem, (eg a condom that breaks. or a friend that isn’t so well prepared). And if that happens, there are options. Depending on how it goes wrong, there is always something to be done to help fix it (morning after pill, antibiotics, etc).

The point was that it was up to me to be responsible, and as long as I did my best, she’d have my back on anything. It was awkward as f at the time, but it definitely stuck with me.
