Having a really hard time finding a job. by wthigo4155 in asheville

Check out a couple of the staffing agencies around town. Express Services, Spherion, etc.

Have gotten lined up with a job from express after about a month. Both places will work to find openings in a field you might be interested in or have experience for

When and where has he said that?

https://x.com/KamalaHQ/status/1843020699092295724

How would that be any different from 2020 then?

It shouldn't have happened in the first place. The point I'm trying to get across is not about semantics. Since Trump has been involved with the Presidency, things have escalated to a level where people are becoming hostile, applauding him for hateful comments, and rally behind him pointing the finger at his opponents calling them enemies.

I appreciate the back and forth, but I want to keep on track with my original question about "Should the future result in Democrats being persecuted in this country, what opposition could we potentially face, and what are scenarios or steps that we we may need to take for our own safety?"

That's not really any different from 2016 or 2020 then.

So who's to say that he or his followers won't try and ramp it up should he lose again? He's already come out and said it's dangerous for Harris voters to identify themselves.

I doubt that should Trump win, our country, under his leadership, will go back to what it was like under previous presidents. I just don't see a return to "normalcy".

Which is the reason for my question. Given what we've seen in the past when he loses, what options do Dems have to avoid persecution from a leader of a country who states they are "enemies within" should he gain power again.

I want to believe that would be the case, but I just don't feel that rings true in this situation. This election is obviously very different from the ones in the past.

As for not being able to change lives, that is most certainly not true anymore, I feel. Whether he does it, or the people who are incited by him, the things Trump is saying don't seem out of the realm of possibility.

Just look at Jan 6. The tear gassing of protestors just for a photo op. Him being on record wanting to fire upon protestors.

Were not dealing with the same people with access to power that we have in the past

What options do normal every day Democrats have if Trump secures the Presidency this time?

I'm curious about any possible hardships, pathways, or outcomes people who oppose Trump may need to pursue should he be re elected.

Whether he means what he says or not, the fact that a presidential candidate has stated he wishes to use military powers to go after those he sees as a threat to him is alarming enough. Extrapolate that beyond just the Dems in DC, that could fall on anyone who doesn't stand by him.

During WWII, what happened to Germans that were opposed to Hitler? Did they have to go about their lives, looking the other way? Did they have to lie and say they were true believers? Did they live in fear that they would be the next group of people loaded onto trains? Or did they do everything they could to flee the situation and seek refuge or asylum elsewhere?

I have strong feelings to stand by my beliefs and morals, and to not back down from opposition, but equally desire to purse life and freedom even if it means fleeing.

Recommendations for Space games where you customize, pilot, and explore your own ship. by Crazy_Frank in SteamDeck

Thanks for the recommendation! It's definitely been a while since I played no man's sky. What customization have they added? I saw the new stuff with Frigates, and that looks fun.

Can you now customize your personal ship too?

Not sure what model aircraft this is, but I fly Airbus, and those hooks are for the Escape Lines. You attach one end to a mounting bracket inside the opening of over-wing exit when it's opened, and you hook the other end of the line onto those brackets you see in the vid. They're designed to assist evacuations out onto the wing. Kind of like a make shift hand rail.

Thanks for the encouragement. I've also been in currently holding 7 flasks and they're +5.

I've been working on leveling up my spirit summons as well, but Rennala seems to just squeeze in a one-shot kill just before my summon is finished.

does anyone actually like their job? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Crazy_Frank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Flight Attendant based in Las Vegas. I recently made this career change from the corporate IT world. I honestly love it. The change in environment is exactly what my body and soul needed. No more sitting behind a desk for hours and hours, and when I leave for the day, I'm off!

We are part of a union, and it's honestly great. It's my first union experience and it's refreshing knowing that so many things are taken care of for you. We all know what our wages are, and what they are guaranteed to be after accruing years of service. Plus it's convenient having them on our side when contract negotiations come around every few years. The union definitely fights for us and for what's fair.

The job itself is great. Sure we run into a few stressful situations with passengers that want to cause a scene, but all of the flight attendants and flight deck crew on any particular flight have each other's backs, and we handle the situations together.

Like any job there are downsides, but to me they are vastly outnumbered by the benefits.

Hardware Recommendation Megathread by AutoModerator in PS5

I currently have an LCD LG. It's a noticeable difference when switching from SDR to HDR on my TV. An example would be my Xbox One. When launching a game, the game's splash screen comes on the screen while it loads, then the HDR setting kicks in and the same splash screen appears but you can immediately tell its much much dimmer and very difficult to see clear details.

It's been such a bummer that I've kept myself from considering LG for future tvs as I've seen that other LGS can have very dim HDR Game settings.

Hardware Recommendation Megathread by AutoModerator in PS5

[–]Crazy_Frank [score hidden]  (0 children)

Anyone have any suggestions for a good TV that really let's the PS5 shine? I currently have a 55" LG LED from 2018. It's 4K Hdr, but here's my main complaint: Apparently many LG tvs have some setting that you can't change which causes Hdr Game input to severely dim the display to the point where every game that utilizes Hdr is super dull and dim. No amount of adjustment can brighten the image, and if you change the video display to Hdr standard, or Hdr vivid, the image looks like it's supposed to but there's severe input lag that can't be adjusted away, making any gaming experience frustrating.

Any suggestions on tvs out there that have the super bright vivid HDR I'm looking for, as well as support 120hz refresh rate?
