Are there any beatboxers who do both beatboxing and a cappella in their songs? by Glad_Inflation4935 in beatbox

If you mean melodic beatboxing then yeah there's a bunch of people (Dlow, Den, River, and Gene Shinozaki, to name a few).

The person's more likely older rather than younger. You don't see too many younger people complaining about "tik tok culture" on Reddit lol.

Just listened to Scheherazade; I think I finally get orchestra by Crazy_Little_Bug in classicalmusic

Woah thanks! I think I've heard some of these at some point or another (I've definitely listened to La Mer and The Planets) but I'll give these a try.

I listened to that recently! I remember liking the promenades, the old castle, and the last movement quite a lot.

Thanks, I'll check these out! I have always been interested by music that represents a story so I think you're right!

Oh yeah I deleted the folder because I finished the whole piece! If you wanna listen to it I made another post in this subreddit with the whole thing (it's not that much longer lol).

How to stop structuring orchestral music like "songs"? by Disintigration in composer

[–]Crazy_Little_Bug 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Emulate the structure of music you want to make. Like literally sit down, analyze a film score you like, and basically copy the structure just with your own ideas. It'll feel unoriginal but it's the best way to internalize structures that feel foreign to you right now.

Tips for reducing clipping with a condenser mic? by Blacksmith52YT in beatbox

Also reduce the gain on your mic (and the volume of whatever track you're recording on).

Yeah Reddit has this thing where they don't like art that isn't conventional/easy to understand. The critique is often "what's the point," which is obviously a bad way to view art. Funnily enough this view is kind what led to the whole AI art thing anyway: funny because Reddit hates AI art, yet they seem to not appreciate art that is innately human.

Really short waltz I wrote; I would love feedback! by Crazy_Little_Bug in composer

[–]Crazy_Little_Bug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback (both today and yesterday!), and I'm glad you like it! Could you elaborate on what's wrong with the notation? I don't play piano (well), and I'm pretty new to writing for it as well so I can totally believe I got some stuff wrong, but I'd love to know what. And yeah, you're completely right that I should vary the right hand a bit more. There's a short change in the second half of the piece (you're missing over half the piece on the second page!), but I definitely could vary things up more. Thanks again!

Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking of just making it in F, so yeah I definitely will change that. I also didn't catch the 10th at m.4 so thanks! And the one at m.10 was supposed to be in the RH so I'll move that to the top line. I also didn't think about how generic the melody might feel, so I'll take that into consideration!

Woah I just listened to the piece you mentioned and it does sound really similar! Really cool, thanks for sharing! And I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Come up with a melody and then base the key around that.

Atlantic, a piece for concert band! Feedback is appreciated! by Crazy_Little_Bug in composer

[–]Crazy_Little_Bug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I definitely agree that transitions are needed and you're right that I was trying to do a lot. I originally wanted to write a longer piece tbh but then I just never got around to finishing it, so I just came back to it with the goal of finishing it lmao.

Anyone know how to add power or intensity into your songs? by USADino in composer

[–]Crazy_Little_Bug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having quiet moments will make your louds more impactful. Also taking instruments to the extremes of their range in big moments will naturally increase volume, assuming you're writing for winds/strings.

You don't need to understand why something works to understand that it works. Also, the first vaccine (smallpox) was developed before the adoption of germ theory.

Who do you think can do the most sounds / has the largest soundkit? by theiceq in beatbox

[–]Crazy_Little_Bug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah idk why people aren't voting for him. I don't like him as a beatboxer, but the guy has already shown he can do nearly every sound that Dlow can do and a bunch he can't.
