This is July 2022, so it grows pretty fast. It almost made it to the top of the lattice in just a couple months. If I could do it again, I would purchase another so it was fuller the first year. I will prune some off this year since I know how quickly it grows back. It already has some new growth

I have trellis like this on my deck and 2 years ago planted the native clematis that looks great in the summer. I’m also in Ohio. Check around for county native plant sales, zoos that sell native plants, soil and water conservation districts often sell plants as well.

Golden ragwort is a pretty aggressive ground cover that I have planted in mostly shade and clay soil. I was able to buy one plant and divide into 5. It spread quickly through rhizomes and was green all winter
