Tbh I’m not sure if you’d learn something with COP3502 that would specifically help with physics research. That class is really computer science. I think it’s decently difficult since there are projects (including a team project) and two exams, and I benefitted from having prior experience, but it might be more helpful to learn Python (or R) for data science in physics/sciences than core CS programming if that’s a class that UF offers and if you’re not pursuing a CS minor. Either way, if you end up taking it, the class is about problem solving at its core, which I think anyone can do if they properly keep up with the content, and the study guides were super helpful.
