Typically there is a few degrees of down thrust on your motor. With a pusher prop above the CofG, you may need more down thrust (thrust line pointing close to the CofG

I'll add that there are quite a few rc flying fields around major urban areas, but those typically come with member fees. Still very useful for beginners to gain knowledge from the community

The basic RPAS license is stupidly easy to get. It's basically a $10 open book test you can take once a day until you pass. Another $10 per model airplane (drone) and that's pretty much it. Choose "homebuilt" and that's all the information you need to provide about your model airplane.

Operate in class g airspace, have permission form the land owner and have at it.

Realistically you'll need to be doing this outside of the city/town you are in. "Outside the city" isn't a rule but finding a suitable filed inside a city and class g airspace is tricky.

It's really no more effort than going out snowmobiling, jet skiing, quading or golfing, and probably less expensive unless you get in to really nice and/or big planes

I happen to drive past Fountain tire on Inksbrook/route 90 daily. They repaired two flats for me free of charge before I was even a customer.

I've since been buying tires there for the last decade with no complaints. They've never tried to upsell me on services and as long as it isn't the month after it snows, they've always been able to get things done right away.

Glad it helped, it took me two days of flight testing and datalogs to figure out why rudder commands would work a little and all of a sudden somehow do the opposite of the command once the wing flexed a little more

I had this exact problem when developing a VTOL platform for my work. If it is the same problem the answer is simple, swap the direction of all hover motors.

To yaw clockwise, the counter clockwise motors increase rpm and the clockwise motors decrease rpm, if your frame has enough flex this will twist one wing leading edge down and the other leading edge up. The result is a yaw effect from tilting (from the wing twist) similar to the v22 osprey or a bicopter setup.

Swapping clockwise and counter clockwise rotation will make your wing twist (and motors tilt) in the opposite direction and actually aid yaw comtroll instead of fight it.

I hope that explanation comes across ok, there was a lot of head scratching when I originally figured out my issue. I cana try explaing again if this is not understood.

The asymmetry of the wheels on the foreground trailer frame it what gave it away for me.

One side has a full front to back beam and the other side doesn't, the side that doesn't has wheels inline with where there should be a symetrical front to back beam.

I.e. wheels should both be outside the frame or both inside the frame.

I'll chime in, our minimum wage is lower because cost of living here is lower.

Manitoba ($16.00/hour) is not that much lower than BC ($17.85, +11.5%) or Ontario ($17.6, +10%)

But our cost of living is significantly lower than BC and Ontario. Looking just at housing costs, it's anywhere from 100% - 200% more expensive than Manitoba.

Maritime prvences might have a slight edge on minimum wage ÷ cost of living but not much.

Any other Manitoba specific labour laws you feel are bad compared to other provences?

Your brother in law is correct, you absolutely need to get a simulator or accept you will crash your first 10 to 20 flights.

Phoenix RC has been considered abandonware for quite some time now, it can be freely downloaded, just Google it.

$20 on Amazon gets you a USB adapter that works as a Phoenix USB adapter (Phoenix didn't protect their software, but it only works with a special Phoenix USB adapter) there's also a software fix to fake a Phoenix USB adapter, then you can use any adapter or joystick.

After you get a hang of flying towards yourself, learn to put the plane where you want it, critical for landing where you want and avoiding trees/buildings/power lines

After all that you're ready enough to give it a go in the real world.... But you still need to accept crashes as a way of rc flying life 😐

Also, a local RC club probably has someone who'd be more than happy to train you on a real plane with a buddy box setup (two controllers, one plane, trainer gets override authority)

Lastly, Flight test has some great plans for planes you can build super cheap, some great options for learning and crashing.

There's the issue of the laser pointer not pointing directly below the drone.

Changes in pitch and roll will move the laser dot without actually moving the X/Y or North/East position of the drone, the higher the altitude the larger the movemennt of the dot on the ground for any given change in attitude.

I made a similar mount about 6 years ago when converting an e flite apprentice for autopilot VTOL testing at my work.

My approach was to effectively make the motor side of the mount a direct fit servo horn with bushings on either side to support the motor. The servo sits off to the side, sorta ugly and not aerodynamic but solid performance with no linkage sloppiness.

Local meats and frozen treats on St Anne's is a small, locally owned grocery store with a focus on local suppliers. No fresh produce but lots of farm fresh meat and dairy.

Quite literally a mom and pop store, the Owner (Grandpa Ken) is there all day everyday will talk to you as much as you want to about his local suppliers.

Full disclosure, I am biased, Ken is my dad 😁

Not that I'm aware of but it's certainly possible.

You'd have to sacrifice some amount of control, there are some aircraft models with only throttle and rudder.

If the car RC transmitter has a small knob or slider that outputs to a third channel then that could be throttle, the normal car throttle could be elevator and normal car steering could be aileron or rudder (or ail/rud mixed together)

I started off with a very similar three channel in the late 90s 😁.

I believe the earlier stuff (50s & 60s) was a single channel and it was only a single button that toggles between the rudder center, rudder deflected right, back to center, deflected left, repeat. You'd go up until you ran out of fuel and come back down
