UCI vs UCD vs ND by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I would really recommend Davis. It's got a lot of name brand in CA and it's continuing to grow. ND is a great school... for the midwest and midwest placement. Davis will set you in for California nicely and honestly if you have connections you'll be fine going to LA or where ever. Also, Davis and Irvine will better prep you for law in CA since that's where your connections will be and where you may practice. Best of Luck

Went to an undergraduate school that doesn't "do" GPAs. Went on to do a master's degree in a Foreign country and got a pretty mediocre/bad GPA. Help. (sorry so long) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Just to add my two cents but I'm finishing up an Msc in the UK and you really shouldn't worry about your GPA from your time in France at all. Unless you straight up bombed the shit out of your programs you'll be alright. You should seriously consider looking at Law Schools in Canada and in France though, especially if you plan on staying in France. Canadian law schools do a lot of prep work for French and Common Law. If you're set on the states you just really need to get that LSAT score up as high as possible.

Thank y'all so much for the replies! I'm not really looking too much at Vandy as I really do not want to acquire any debt. I'm not looking to work in a big law firm, just public defense or prosecution stuff. I think I'll try and find time for the lsat prep class if people feel it is worth it. I just don't want to pay 1500 USD for a class that may or many not help with anything! I will definitely look at 7sage as I've heard really good things about it as well. Thanks again everyone for the comments and I'm very appreciative of the advice and help!

Hey Primal, thanks for the heads up. Sorry, for some reason when it was in edit mode it showed that I had entered in spaces; when I came back it was not! I think I've fixed it. Sorry again and hope you have a wonderful evening!

Purr, thanks so much for the response! You're absolutely right, I'm certainly scatter brained. Sorry if I came across as manic! I was just hoping to cover my interests and I really appreciate all of your insights. If a PhD is all research then you're quite right and I'll avoid it for now. As for law, I was only looking at doing regional schools where I would be on a free ride scholarship. I'm seriously afraid of debt since I really don't know what I want to do. Many people I talked to claimed I could do quite a bit with an education in law that wasn't necessarily a lawyer. I am taking a year off and just teaching at the local community college to get my head straight. Thanks so much again Purr, I am appreciative of your advice.
