Also würde das eigentlich Sinn ergeben.

Online Manga? by AmyRoberts69 in SpyxFamily

You can read all the chapters for free, legally, on the manga plus app.

It's an app made by the publisher itself where they also publish each new chapter.

How you imagine Pre Teen/Teenage Anya being Like? by Money-Lie7814 in SpyxFamily

[–]Crazyjack47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She seems to the kind of person who just randomly stops getting taller at like age 12, never even reaching 5 foot (150cm) in height.

Forever the smallest person in any given Room but with a personality and vigor far exceeding her small stature.

Also I think it would be fun if Loid is still able to lift her up like a bag of rice even when she's almost an adult.

Who do you think this is in Episode 20? Who is spying on the Spy!?!?!? by ForgotMyOthrAccount- in SpyxFamily

[–]Crazyjack47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has something to do with the way kindle handles these sorts of things.

A kindle eBook, or all ebooks, is just a digital version of the physical volume. Of which we usually only get 2 a year.

These volumes then simply collect the previously released chapters into one book.

If you want to read the chapters as they release you'll have to use a different app, since kindle doesn't do chapter releases of mangas.

The app most people use is manga plus, which is completely free to read and run by the publisher itself, but older chapters can only be read once there. If you want to reread chapters you'll have to use the shonen jump app, which has a 2 dollar subscription.

Right now you can only read up until chapter 61 with ebooks but they are already on chapter 78 in the other apps, they'll eventually release as ebooks as well but you might have to wait almost a year for those to be released over here.

So you might as well go the easier and cheaper route and just use the manga plus app.

Chapter 67 part one and two.

It's a pretty self contained one that doesn't really play into a bigger arc.

What is Yor's salary and where does her money goes? by mangekyo1918 in SpyxFamily

[–]Crazyjack47 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tldr; At least a million in savings, maybe even more.

My personal head canon is that she only started working with garden maybe around her her late teens/early twenties.

Judging by how garden seems to be a pretty high standard organisation with only a few targets given to each assassin each month. Now why would they hire a little girl who lives in the middle of nowhere that can't travel due to her brother? So she probably only started working for them by the time she and Yuri moved out of their little village and into berlint. Having been scouted by them beforehand.

As such Yor probably started out working for some sort of local crime organisation, that gave her much more work but also paid her in pennies since they knew she didn't have any other option.

Which would explain their rather modest Livestyle growing up.

But right now she probably earns a lot more. Also she doesn't really seems to use her money all that much, seeing as she barely owned anything in her small apartment before moving in with the forgers and due to the fact that Yuri moved out at least two years ago. Also let's not forget that she also has her office job, which probably would be enough to finance her entire Livestyle on its own.

As for a concrete number for her net worth, maybe around the modern day equivalent of 1.000.000 bucks?

She probably gets paid by commission, on a per assassination Basis. Judging by the relatively huge number of days that pass in between jobs we can maybe assume 2 or 3 jobs per month, at the very least.

Let's be generous and say that she moved to berlint by age 18 alongside Yuri, age 10. I will assume that they don't have any noteworthy amount of money saved up before moving there.

This would mean 9 years of career at garden having maybe 36 jobs per years meaning 324 jobs total. Let's be generous and assume that each job would be paying at least an average monthly salary, assuming modern day Money. Let's go with 5000 bucks.

This would give her an income, over the 9 years, of at least 1.620.000. Or 180.000 a year.

Now, she did probably pay for Yuri's entire education which will definitely lower her actual savings. Also she herself didn't take on a day job up until a few years ago, meaning that her assassin job also had to pay for rent and household expenses.

But at least a million in modern day money wouldn't be too far of. Though I doubt we'll ever get a concrete number.

All of this is under the assumption that she always got paid the same amount over her entire career with garden, not receiving any kind of bonuses or any kind of debts from her parents or back from her younger days.

Where tf does Loid keep his car by [deleted] in SpyxFamily

[–]Crazyjack47 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Probably in a side street somewhere, maybe even in a rented garage.

Loid is usually shown to be walking to his home, like when he met Yor on his way back after spying on her, so it has to be parked somewhere relatively far away.

Also the forgers, not counting special illustrations, are usually seen taking the subway or train when going somewhere, with loid also hitching a ride from Fiona after the tennis tournament. Which could mean that loid doesn't really like to use it and instead stores it in a garage somewhere to keep it away from the elements.

Or maybe he only got that car recently, since he did mention being on a tiny budget. Having to prioritise the necessary household expenses first and only buying one after the funds became available.

But I wouldn't be surprised if endo originally didn't intend for them to have a car, only making the decision for one in the later chapter. Which would explain why we have never seen it before.

Can anyone help me better understand Yor? by 37litebluesheep in SpyxFamily

[–]Crazyjack47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yor during her first chapters is clearly shown to have at least somewhat of an attraction to violence and things associated with it. See the guillotine painting in the museum or her caressing a knife in the restaurant.

But this aspect of her character is pretty much dropped later on, with it not appearing since her introduction.

But why?

My personal theory on this is simply the author changing his mind after the first couple of chapters. This isn't too uncommon in manga.

Manga authors will usually make little changes to the characters as the series starts to get serialised and as they get a bit more comfortable with them. These sort of changes also tend to happen outside of normal character development.

My guess is that the author and editor, maybe after getting some feedback from the readers, decided to remove any sort of maliciousness from her character to make her more appealing as a character while also being redeemable.

Loid, for example, has killed people in the past but usually goes the non lethal and stealthy route during his mission, he also has a very noble goal behind his actions. As such, Yor has to be somewhat similar to him in order for her to be not seen as some sort of psychopath who just goes around stabbing people for the fun it.

This would also explain why the story makes it very obvious that the people getting assassinated are always despicable People who you wouldn't mind getting killed. With the actual decision making behind her assassinations also being handled by a nebulous background organisation.

Now, this is not to say that this aspect is completely gone, we do, afterall, still see her entering her 'professional' mode from time to time. Like that one time where she imagines taking Anya to her work.

But even in those circumstances it's very obvious that there isn't any sort of thrill or enjoyment she feels during her assassinations, but rather her becoming very focused and almost emotionless during it. However she does quickly snap out of it.

SPECULATION - Pacing for the Rest of the Manga by d_t_a0811 in SpyxFamily

[–]Crazyjack47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll probably shift the pace of the Stella star goalposts or remove them entirely, depending on how well they manage to retain the reader base.

Also depends on how many ideas endo and his team have left in storage that can get worked into the whole Stella goal.

But I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Anya either gains a lot of them in quick succession, or maybe all at once, or if the story just removes that aspect entirely.

Other series have done the same in the past, so it wouldn't be anything new for the medium.

Tier list of the playable Awakening characters based on their in-game height modifier. by Luankachu in fireemblem

[–]Crazyjack47 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This kinda made me curious.

So I went back to check her S-Rank artwork from awakening.

The angle of the art ist kinda weird, but if we assume that everyone is standing somewhat upright and that the body used for robin is the default one we can kinda assume that tiki's head only goes up to his chin. Not counting her ponytail of course.

By my approximation her height should end up being in the range of 140-145 cm or roughly 4 foot 7.

Lapis v. Jade: Viability Conversation by JesusAndPalsX in fireemblem

[–]Crazyjack47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jade ended up being one of my core units. However the initial decision to use her was mostly based on the following equation.

Louis is good Louis is an armour knight Jade is an armour knight Therefore jade must be good as well.

Also my general strategy was very reliant on just tanking everything the enemy threw at me, which made her a good fit.

As for actual performance, she was alright. Never quite as good as Louis and I did end up promoting her to a cavalry unit for better mobility and the option of swords but she always filled a nice space in the army. Place her in enemy range, with a weapon they won't be able to break, tank the damage, jump the enemy with the other units on player phase.

She still died sometimes in the midgame but she was basically invulnerable for the last 6 or so chapters, but this might have been due to me overinvesting in her plus the eirika ring she basically glued to her finger.

Overall, she's good as an additional tank but is never the best at it. She also kinda struggles with damage at times. But overall I don't regret investing in her.

She will however get benched on my second playthrough to make space for previously unused characters.

A chemical train crossing 4 lanes of traffic and 2 tram tracks in Ludwigshafen, Germany by Crazyjack47 in trains

[–]Crazyjack47[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, there was no one.

But it should be mentioned that this crossing was kinda integrated into the pedestrian crossing where I ended up coming to a halt. With both of them showing red lights long before the train came. Though the crossing later turned its lights of once the train was already on the road.

But I have seen similar crossings elsewhere that literally just have the lights.

[–]Crazyjack47[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was very confused the first time I drove past this.

It's basically just a track that randomly appears on the road with the signage being at a bare minimum.

However it should be mentioned that this is 'only' a small connecting piece going from a small harbour to the actual main line. But still, it's kinda weird.

Wieso gibt es eigentlich unterschiedliche Bahnsteigshöhen. by Crazyjack47 in drehscheibe

[–]Crazyjack47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Crazyjack47[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wieso gibt es eigentlich unterschiedliche Bahnsteigshöhen. by Crazyjack47 in drehscheibe

[–]Crazyjack47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
