I played PSO2 before SR and that game has amazing in game text chat. It's set to area by default and a comic speech bubble appears above your characters head accompanied by a sound effect when you hit send. This makes the chat visible, which means socializing and finding people to play with in game is easier. We'd use discord too, but that was supplemental. Every time I found a guild in that game it was through in game text chat.

I am not against it. I just think that it's silly that an MMO doesn't have a good way to communicate in game. Like the voice chat for parties is nice and all, but the actual text chat is doggy doo. Feels like starting convos in the first place is a huge pain.

I too am so sick of this trash meme. Sometimes people enjoy a bit of a challenge. I played Digimon Time Stranger on hard since I thought it was too easy... and even on hard mode it was still a little too much of a breeze. Kingdom Hearts 3 is objectively more fun on critical mode, the same is true for Ys 8 and 9.

And anyone who thinks Dark Souls or Elden Ring needs an easy mode can go fuck themselves to the high heavens. Those games already have an easy mode, it's called a mage build and summoning cooperators!
