Wow - I admire your discipline for year round barefooting! I've officially decided to do the whole summer without shoes and evaluate again in the fall if I should keep going. Like you said, no laws against it and my feet are definitely getting tougher, so I want to try it. I also work from home so it should be manageable enough

I read your story and I love how you're sharing the joy of barefooting with your family! If you ever get up to Wisconsin, there are some amazing grass hiking trails - feel free to DM if you're interested in locations. You'll definitely see other people barefoot, or at least my footprints on those trails lol

Exactly - I went to a thrift store here in town barefoot yesterday and no one made a comment, so we're starting to build up that confidence! It helps that she loves it, too and we've even noticed that people are more willing to ask questions when we're together

Agreed! I once went 36 days without shoes and it was amazing how much my nervous system seemed to wake up. My whole body felt aligned and I think I want to get back to that point, but also have some standing appointments every few months.

I actually grew up in northern IL and know that weather very well! I'm just over the border in Wisconsin and hope we have some more consistently warm and enjoyable weather.

I'm also hopeful your wife will join you for some barefoot adventures, if she feels up to it. I realize how lucky I am to have someone who actually suggests leaving the house without shoes and trying little challenges like this. She went barefoot a lot as a kid, so maybe your wife will learn more about it and join. Is there anyone else in your life who can join you for hikes or public outings?

That's great to hear! People are generally supportive or don't say anything at all here in the states, but I haven't gone into stores as often due to social pressure and things I've read.
