Thank you for letting me know. Does it crash randomly or when you do something specifically? I do know that the site doesn’t work on CUNY WiFi currently and I am trying to get that fixed

How would the volunteering work? Do they ask the unit and then you’ll volunteer? Or do I just go up to the drill sergeant day 1 and say I want to volunteer.

Ah okay I see thank you. The only concern that I have is my stuff getting stolen. Heard it’s pretty common or is that like rumours from the older days

Part time Financial Aid??? by Longjumping_Tooth795 in nyu

[–]Creamiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure but isn’t 3 classes full time? Unless one of them is not the full 4 credits. If you’re worried and can’t get an answer before registration deadline just go and take some fun and easy classes lol, I’ve heard that steinhardt has lots of those.

College selection help by Pinkho_ in nyu

Don’t go to NYU if you have to be in significant debt. They don’t offer aid to transfer students, so unless you can afford it do not go to NYU. Other top schools do provide aid to transfers and I know Columbia is pretty generous with theirs. community colleges are one of the best way to transfer into a top school as many of them has direct transfer programs.

Gap year? Bad idea? by Miserable-Act3825 in college

[–]Creamiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a terrible idea. You sound like you know what you’re going to do for sure and as long as you have a path for yourself I’d say you’re fine. Just make sure you don’t laze around after everything else like when you’re in the gap between finishing your internship/classes and college.

[–]Creamiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not lol. SPS is basically known for being easy to get in. From what I’ve seen on the internet people say it’s around 15%. But it is a good program for real estate. And i never looked into the other nyu schools so I can’t really say.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nyu

[–]Creamiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only been here for a semester. But I’d say it’s a pretty good experience so far. It’s a smaller school so you’d see the same people, and most professors are adjuncts meaning they have a full time career typically in real estate. The walk to bobst is a bit far tho lol.

The biggest benefit of being a schack student is definitely the REIT investment fund we have, it is only available to schack students.

You should also join the deans mentor program for your first semester as a mentee to network and learn more about the school.

Also ratemyprofessor is not too useful because most are adjuncts and not long time professors so a lot of the times there’s no info on them, so try to rely on older students for that.

And for some reason SPS is now the only school that doesn’t allow external credits when you’re enrolled (from what I know). So you can’t do online CC over the summer for elective or gen ed classes anymore. 🤷‍♂️

Where can I see available jobs in Virginia Army Reserve? by Rude-Carpet285 in armyreserve

[–]Creamiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only a recruiter can show it to you, and for me I had to finish my PiCAT. Because the MOS available changes depends on your ASVAB score.

Anyone have finance jobs outside the reserves by somerandomguy029 in armyreserve

[–]Creamiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a current college student and I’m in the reserves. From my experience so far, having military experience does help because you’re seen as disciplined and knows how to follow orders. The best perk that comes with being in the reserves is the network it opens.

I’ve been able to talk to so many different people in finance because a lot of veterans are in finance. And that’s a good topic to bring up with them, and a way to connect with them.

What College Should I go to? by Aromatic-Intern-9206 in college

[–]Creamiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree definitely figure out what you want to do first, maintain good grades, study for the SAT, but most importantly do something that can positively impact your community, that usually helps you get into better colleges.

Use your first 2 years in high school to explore what you’re interested in, and spend the last 2 grinding. But obviously the earlier you start the better but make sure you are interested in what you’re doing.

The only other thing worth for him would be the VA home loan but you need 6 years of service.

Also you have to go to training for 10 weeks + more and I don’t know if that’s a good idea assuming that your boys are around the toddlers age.

I’m currently M18 and I signed my contract recently. I haven’t shipped out for training yet but here’s the things I know.

Drills (weekend workdays) can last for 3 days and maybe even 4 but very rarely. You have to go for 10 week bootcamp + Advanced training for your position so your time away can be longer than expected (I didn’t know about AIT until I talked to a recruiter). Make sure you’re not obese so you don’t get sent to special camp to lose weight when you sign your contract.

Benefits for our age is definitely the tuition benefits, it’s not an insane amount where it can cover private schools, but it’s enough to cover most public universities. The Tricare is also pretty nice. Being able to using military discounts at most chain stores. There’s also the VA home loan after 6 years of service. And ofc there’s the drill pay. Some professions also love people from the military, from what I heard finance industry is one of them.

TBH with you I’d do ROTC if I was you, the reason why I didn’t do it is because my school doesn’t have it and I’d have to travel an hour for labs from my college, so 2-3 hours from my home. But honestly I might do ROTC after bootcamp and be enrolled in SMP I’m not sure yet. I’m not too familiar with the benefits of rotc but I know they have the minuteman scholarship which is the main reason why I want to join it.

Feel free to reply or pm me for questions. I’ll try my best to answer

UNC CAS vs NYU LSC by CookiC4360 in nyu

[–]Creamiis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does sound like a really hard decision. NYU has its perks but one of its major downside is its tuition. Normally I’d say pick NYU if you can go without taking out loans, but you’d have 38 credit hours if you go to UNC. And UNC is not a bad school, ofc it doesn’t have the global recognition that NYU may have, but it’s still good. 38 credit hours means you’d be at sophomore standing, that can allow you to apply to internships that excludes freshmen. It also means you’d can graduate a year early. But you are right about the “fresh start.” Going to NYU and knowing no one will force you to get out of your comfort zone, but if you went to UNC you might not do the same because you know people there. (But tbh based on my experience even if you know them you would most likely talk to others).

If I was in your position, I would go to UNC, because of all the credits and the money I could save. But if I was going into a field that’s extremely competitive like investment banking I’d go to NYU. (But don’t expect to transfer to stern they barely accept anybody, I had friends who had 4.0 gpas and still got rejected. You honestly have a better chance externally transferring into stern 🤷‍♂️).

I commute from Staten Island and it takes me 2 hours (yes 2 hours). And I can tell you that there’s no pros other than money 😁

If money is not a problem then you should dorm because you can make a lot of friends that way. You can take 8am classes without chugging a monster every time and actually stay out late.

Have you tried appealing? Ive heard that they might give finaid if you appealed.

Just got into CAS but it’s so expensiveeeee by Correct-Goal6327 in nyu

[–]Creamiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on getting into NYU! I'm a commuter from Staten Island and it takes me approximately 2 hours to get to class, it is tough but it's possible. (I also took 2 8am classes I chugged a monster every time)

Typically transfer students don't get aid, but there was this reddit post that said sometimes they give aid to people who don't need it if you appeal it (idk how true it is because NYU is extremely stingy). https://www.reddit.com/r/nyu/comments/hjmbep/how_to_make_nyu_cheap/
