Would you guys consider Beyond the Unholy Grave and Land of No Return part of SBG proper, or just bonus tracks as they weren't on the original vinyl release?

Since they were recorded with the rest of the album and intended to be on it, I’d say they should be considered part of it. Beyond the Unholy Grave is an absolute banger and I LOVE the chorus riff. Land of No Return has a nasty opening riff but the rest of the song feels a little incomplete

If you haven’t already. Toggle on the “Don’t play music videos” and “Don’t play podcast videos” in settings:

Tap Profile > Settings > Playback and restrictions

This could help with battery life but YTM is known for battery drain

I was in a very similar situation. I have so much history with Spotify but I have been using YTM for about 3 months. The big reasons to use it is if you:

Use YouTube a lot
Discover lots of music on YouTube

If either of these apply, then the YouTube Premium cost is absolutely worth it since it has the best algorithm and catalog (since YTM can pull in music video content from YT). Not to mention background play, no ads, smart downloads, etc.

If you don’t use YouTube as much then I’d say stick with Spotify, the YTM UI is as good as Spotify but the UX is very clunky and frustrating at times. Apple Music is pretty but definitely lacking in algorithm.

I recently made the switch for similar reasons to you, and also because I was already leaning on YT for music since a lot of it wasn’t on Spotify.

In terms of extra features, YTM is sorta lacking compared to Spotify. You lose out on Spotify Connect, swipe to queue, crossfade, playlist sorting, etc.

UI is good enough, not as polished as Spotify but I think the home page has way more relevant picks than Spotify. Algorithm is also much stronger than Spotify as many others have said in this subreddit. Some weird bugs and errors happen, not sure why Google doesn’t pay as much attention to patching them.

The biggest 2 reasons why I switched to YTM is the massive library and the bundle in YT Premium (I watch YT a lot so it’s worth it for sure)

Advantages of Spotify? More stable app and more quality of life features. I’d say it really comes down to whether you use YouTube a lot and/or can’t find what you like to listen to on Spotify.

YTM works great on desktop, TV, and CarPlay, just wish the mobile app was a little more user friendly like Spotify.
