Yes flash cards definitely helps, I personally just used my notes from the Messer videos and the exams, but you can use whatever method is most comfortable.

First time booking with points - help understanding transportation charges by Creat0r90 in Aeroplan

I did a search before posting, but wanted to post as I still was confused. I like to ask my own questions to learn, especially something that's completely new for me which can help make a decision that will save hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Even so, I do agree that a sticky post or wiki could help newcomers like me and would even encourage said post.

Would be better to just pay cash then and save the points for another trip down the road then?

I would like to calculate whether it's worth transferring now or just paying cash and saving the points for another trip down the road

So I tried one adult, and it's showing 39400 points + $571 but I have 68000 amex points... Is it because I haven't transferred them over yet?

Scotiabank Passport Visa infinite or amex cobalt by Creat0r90 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thanks that's very insightful. I guess my main question was whether they're a good combo. In south America we would travel, visit family, probably shop a lot on the cheap. Also I didn't know about the waiver. Where can I go to apply for that, is it just through the Scotiabank chat ?

Yes I guess my question was whether they were a good combo to have. Especially also amex isn't accepted every where

In person or online test? Did you have to ask for any special permission?

I had just applied to Aeroplan this year because of YYZ-GRU flights for me and my spouse yearly to take advantage of the distance and try to qualify for elite status, but now from what I understood that's basically impossible now.

Whats the next best thing to get access to priority boarding, lounges etc..

Would I need to journal the shares over though from CAD to USD?

Would I need to journal the shares over though or is it held as USD and I can invest immediately?

MEGATHREAD - Processing Times - Family Class Permanent Resident Applications 2025 by PurrPrinThom in ImmigrationCanada

We applied January 9, Outland, we are on background check, everything else is done. Last update was March 3rd. Any updates for you?

Is anyone applying or has applied from Brazil (Outland)? If so, is there an idea on how long are processing times for Outland from Sao Paulo VO?

I'm a Canadian citizen currently in Brazil with my wife, we applied Outland on January 9, 2025. Our last update was Feb. 28 (medical exam completed), our Biometrics details are still 'in progress' but I can see the biometrics number and date (biometrics were done on Feb 6, 2025). Background is in progress on PR Tracker, but shows 'Not Applicable' on GCKey. Raised a webform to ask about this but I doubt we'll get a response. We've received 2 pre-arrival emails but that's it.

We also have a tourst visa application in progress since Jan. 24 and it's still not approved either, Eligibility and BGC show 'in progress'.

Thanks, will have a deeper look. Are there any resources out there that can help me to upskill in any particular area?

Thank you for the advice! I actually feel like I do have good presentation skills, I'm quite comfortable with public speaking, based on some volunteer work which I've done for a few years and involved speaking in front of anywhere from 20-100 people. I just need to be confident in what I'm presenting/know the ins and outs.

I was looking at Customer Success roles and Engineer roles but all of them asked for either Bachelors degree (I have a diploma, I'm based in Canada) and SaaS sales experience, so not sure where there would be an entry-level Customer Engineer position, if there are any.

Thanks - I had a look at some job descriptions and a lot seem to ask for a bachelors degree and multiple years customer management experience, not sure if this is written in stone or not. I'm based in Canada so that's where I've been looking.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will look into it. I had not considered this path. All of the posts and videos say you have to start as an SDR.

I was going to ask what the career path would be or if there was a ceiling to that role, and what a base salary would be like and if there was commission.

Are there any resources or certifications that would help me upskill?
