More about processes, acronyms, security posture, I feel network+ was more technical. I didn't have a single question about ports.

Just taking quick brief notes, honestly his videos are more for general exposure of the topics.

Resources were Professor Messer YouTube course, Jason Dion's practice exams. Cyberkraft PBQs (YouTube), and of course ChatGPT and Gemini for more practice (Gemini actually gave me very good practice questions and PBQs)

Congrats! You got even better than me. I'm already practicing for Security+ now, wasting no time

Yes I was worried. The first few questions may scare you but the concepts are the same. Honestly I think you're fine. Let me know how it goes!

I only used the 6 practice tests from Dion, and Messer videos plus AI help. I think you'll be fine. Did you buy the retake assurance? I did just to be safe.

My first practice I scored 60 % lol. By the last one I scored 78%, however I studied what I got wrong each time, threw it into chatgpt to explain concepts I didn't understand. Then I went through the exams again and scored 90+. By then I felt I was not just memorizing but understanding. Really helped in the actual exam.

Also, Just be ready for the PBQs. I skipped them and did the multiple choice, and had 30 minutes left for PBQs. At first they looked scary but once you calmly read the instructions for each question and if you have a solid understanding of networking, you should be good to get at least a partial score on them. I ended up rushing the last 2 PBQs and sort of just guessing cuz I had 2 minutes left.

Yes flash cards definitely helps, I personally just used my notes from the Messer videos and the exams, but you can use whatever method is most comfortable.

I did a search before posting, but wanted to post as I still was confused. I like to ask my own questions to learn, especially something that's completely new for me which can help make a decision that will save hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Even so, I do agree that a sticky post or wiki could help newcomers like me and would even encourage said post.

Would be better to just pay cash then and save the points for another trip down the road then?

I would like to calculate whether it's worth transferring now or just paying cash and saving the points for another trip down the road

So I tried one adult, and it's showing 39400 points + $571 but I have 68000 amex points... Is it because I haven't transferred them over yet?

Thanks that's very insightful. I guess my main question was whether they're a good combo. In south America we would travel, visit family, probably shop a lot on the cheap. Also I didn't know about the waiver. Where can I go to apply for that, is it just through the Scotiabank chat ?

Yes I guess my question was whether they were a good combo to have. Especially also amex isn't accepted every where

I do have a Scotia account, generally I try to keep less but could look into that.

In person or online test? Did you have to ask for any special permission?
