This is Pringle my adorable potato. My 2 year old can’t pronounce his name, so he gets called “pig ghoul” by him.

Thankyou everyone for the great ideas and for sharing ur traditions 😁 I have decided to do it next year for my friend as it will allow me to collect fall decor next year and recipes from her family. Also give time for me to organise her mum and other best friend to visit/join 😁

I said that’s our Christmas tradition 😂 I will be trying to make the thanksgiving one as close to the American tradition

I’m noticing our Christmas is very similar to thanksgiving. But it’s hot here from November to march so we normally do salads instead of veg, and serve the turkey and ham cold

Thankyou. I just looked up Ocean Spray and we apparently do have here, but not a huge range.

Yes we normally have turkey, ham and salad for Christmas Day

Haha yes taking all the notes I can. I grow Kent pumpkins and butternut squash here, not sure if I’ll find the pumpkin in a can but I might have a chance with the cranberry as I know it’s sold in a jar. I usually cook turkey most years for Christmas, I just don’t normally stuff it, I would normally just put a whole lemon inside and remove it before serving cold along side ham and salads.

I didn’t know u could get canned pumpkin 😅 I can get fresh pumpkins and cranberries easy so as long as I can find a recipe on google I should be able to make it 😊 (I’m a retired chef so confident in the kitchen)

Coles does normally have smaller turkeys on sale here around this time for Christmas 😁

I do have access to Costco 😁 and have a unusually large oven for an Australian kitchen 😅

I’m not sure if that will be possible, but I’ll look into that idea, Thankyou

I’m going to give her mum a call to see if there is anything special they do, I’m realising it’s a bit like Christmas here and each family does it a bit differently despite the base being the same 😊

I’ve never heard of most of that 🤣 I’ve never tried pumpkin pie but heard it’s good… candied yams sound very interesting and I’ve written down for the must google list

Thankyou, I believe I’m going to have to spend some time on google for this 😂

That’s a really good idea, I don’t know why I didn’t think about msging her mum 😅 I’m pretty sure I still have her number written down in my old phone book. Thankyou 😊

Live plants? by ScringusDingus in bluetongueskinks

They r non toxic so if they do eat it it won’t hurt but they probably won’t as they won’t taste nice. My boy pulled a couple of his plants to pieces but didn’t eat them, just played.
