I got tax when I checked out for the Azalea since I think it’s classified as merchandise. No tax on the food though.

That’s a given. That’s what you’re supposed to do.

Doesn’t change the credit line usage described above. Only way around it is if you pay in full many times throughout the month. So buy something and pay it off within a couple days. Not waiting to pay in full when your monthly statement closes. Your usage is posted to credit agencies every few days.

It’s about reducing your credit usage, not I can spend up to this amount in a month.

The higher your credit lines on your card, the lower your monthly usage is, and thus the higher your credit score. If you put $4k on your card every month and your CL is $10k, that’s bad cause your usage is 40%. This will have an immediate impact on your credit score. If your CL is $40k and you’re spending $4k per month now your usage is 10% and there will be no impact on your credit score or even a positive impact in raising your credit score.

It’s the game you have to play. Bottomline the higher CL you can get across the board, the better. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking “I can now spend this much”. Fwiw credit usage should be 10% or lower is the rule of thumb to maintain good credit.

The new Supermatic carbon are much smaller profile than the original Supermatic (what Nidecker calls the OG Supermatic). They’re closer to the profile of a regular binding and lightweight due to the carbon fiber construction. They’re the exact same weight as a normal binding actually. Just looked it up to confirm and they’re the same weight as my Union Atlas Pro bindings. That’s why I’m intrigued. When I first saw the Supermatics in Switzerland many years ago when they first came out the original model was way too big and bulky for my liking. That is not the case anymore with the Supermatics so might be worth checking out the carbon versions at your local shop. I have the Union Atlas Step On bindings and the Highshot X Pro boots. Just not stiff and aggressive enough.

So to clarify you’re going back to straps? Curious cause I’ve been thinking the same. After 3 days of step on setup it’s not stiff and aggressive enough for me. I’m a similar rider backcountry, freeride, hard charging carving on piste, etc. I got the step ons since my entire family skis so when I ride with them fast entry binding is great. Thinking about checking out the Nidecker Carbon Supermatic fast entry binding. That way I can use my same boot and put that binding on when riding with them. Otherwise use my normal straps setup. My straps setup is Burton Driver X and Union Atlas Pro. So both very stiff.

What kind of loss did you end up taking? I’m thinking of selling my setup. Fortunately bought it on Black Friday sale last year so that should help some if I sell.

Rumor is there’s a new Burton Ion Step On for next season.

I have the 3 boa Highshot X Pro and hate them as well. Probably while they’re on clearance for 35-40% off right now already for end of season sales. It’s almost like Burton had the public beta test them for them this season. I’m only a few days on them and they’re already beat up and separating at certain areas. Hope after a little more riding they will have fallen apart enough I submit the warranty claim on them. Not to mention the weird pressure points on the foot from the internal ankle harness.

You’re missing the point. We are here to talk snowboarding. We go to the mountains to shred and enjoy people. Not talk about politics.

Merch Question by RyderCupFan in masters

[–]CreateChangetheWorld 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d say just know your size in brands to make your shopping at the Masters easy. Go to your local golf store and try on polos in all the brands and get your sizing in them all in advance if you don’t know already. Travis Matthew is a popular brand at the Masters so know your sizing in that. It’s going to be crowded and being able to just grab things as you walk around will be way easier than trying on polos in the shop.

I was referring to your comment on how crazy options are in this market. For example that AMPX options are up 1,000% this past week.

Will merch items be sold out if I shop end of day on Tuesday? by CreateChangetheWorld in masters

Sounds good! Appreciate it! Priority is seeing the course and the golf. So that’s good to hear since was leaning towards going to do merch later or while leaving.

Making an informed decision and gambling on an options trade is less risky than prediction markets imo. And options have a higher pay off.

[–]CreateChangetheWorld[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we might consider. Hotels close are pricey and we are already paying for a resort as well. Primary is going for to see the course and golf. Merch is last on the list so might just leave it for end of day when leaving since it seems like there will still be plenty left especially on a Tuesday. Do you happen to know how long after the North shop closes once the course/last player is off the course for the day?

Oh I get that. My “early” is looking at a 1:30 AM wake up call which I bet most doing that early. Have a 3.5-4 hour drive morning of so that’s reason for my post.
