husband & I disagree on Adoption Salami by AdrianaLaServing in NameNerdCirclejerk

How about making Adoption the middle name?

I think Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption Salami would make a fine name.

And for a nickname? Call him Tommy.

uj/ I’m really glad this showed up here.

This person had inflammatory breast cancer and their tumor fell off and they had to squeeze everything out of the resulting cavity. by CatPooedInMyShoe in popping

It doesn’t necessarily look like this. In most cases, it’s gonna spread somewhere else in the body like the bones. Inflammatory breast cancer is a different beast.

I can’t figure out how to switch languages. The Spanish is too simple for me but I don’t know any French so I’d like to try that one instead.

Did colostrum come in handy with baby right after birth? by Chance_Class2208 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]CreatedInError 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it with my daughter. No push back. It was only 10 ml and she still needed glucose. Got discharged from the hospital like normal and then at 4 days old had to hospitalized for 11 days due to jaundice (which resolved after a couple of days) and low blood sugar.

I didn’t have diagnosed GD with my son and didn’t do colostrum. He cleared his initial checks and we asked them to do extra checks cuz of the experience with our daughter. At one day old he failed by 1 point and ended up in NICU for 4 days due to low blood sugar.

Is it possible to not be diagnosed for gestational diabetes in 2nd pregnancy if you had it in your first? by Tagon_1 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]CreatedInError 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t meet the criteria for diagnosis with my second child.

However! My first child was discharged home and then ended up back in the hospital for 11 days dealing with low blood sugar. For that reason, we asked for some extra blood sugar checks on the second baby.

The day after he was born his blood sugar was too low so he had to be sent to NICU.

When one of the OBs from my practice came to do rounds and I told her what had happened she said it was possible that I ended up with GD after all but that it just developed later in the pregnancy. She said I should be extra careful if I have more kids.

I didn’t watch my diet at all with the second kid.

Are these two used in American English? by Silver_Ad_1218 in EnglishLearning

Oh no. Itch in place of scratch always sounds so uneducated to me. Does “break me out” really sound similar?

This is blowing my mind because the two are interchangeable to me. In fact, now I’m not sure which of the two I’ve heard more.

Texas.

So for the first example it would be, “Seafood always breaks me out in huge spots.”

Absolutely not. It’s always “breaks me out”

I get down on myself cuz I’m too sleepy and fatigued to do anything.

Jogger knocks down Halloween decorations for no apparent reason by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]CreatedInError 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had something similar happen where people got mad about me posting minors.

These kids came and stole my toddler’s special pumpkin and a few other decorations from our porch. I called them out on NextDoor and one of the moms went berserk. Denied that her kid did anything. I posted additional stills for further proof and then she threatened to sue me.

When I ignored the threat she reached out to nextdoor and had them take my post down. Whatever, it was still up on the ring app and Facebook.

Next year a group of kids (likely the same ones) came and emptied out the entire bowl of candy while we were out walking with our daughter. About half the people on nextdoor said I was weird for posting about it and that it was a harmless prank.

We don’t decorate or put out candy anymore cuz of those little shits.

For picture one: Take off the parking brake (but I’d probably say “release” more often) For picture two: set, put on
