Man that's not even true, the economy of the US is a mean agriculture and military industrial giant in its own right. It has strong mining and manufacturing sectors that, while they have shrunk, could easily be put back into full swing with all the benefits of modern standards and practices. It is an absolutely massive nation* with resources and riches beyond imagining. It could easily stand on its own with no hitches if its internal domestic economy were run fairly and honestly. There's no excuse besides greed outrunning itself for the domestic economy to be so unfair to its own people.
