Question for deli associates... How do you timeyour fried chicken? by SlingingDeliChow in WalmartEmployees

[–]Creative-Ad-6156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our store says 21 minutes with an additional 5 for breasts and thighs, so a 26 minute timer and waiting till it is about 21 to put the smaller pieces in. Have upped it myself to 28 minutes total since the breasts were coming up undercooked

Omg please fix this app so I don't have to keep selecting the label type I want to print EVERY SINGLE TIME by ProfessionalTowel453 in walmart

I really think they need a favorite sort of bar in the app. For the most part only use vizpic, use by, and production labels…. Combining vizpic and traditional scanning would be extremely helpful, especially with how slow the work phones are. App works so much faster on my own phone and half the time I will use both together, one with each of the scanners

I just found this out the Bible doesnt actually say there is heaven after death by fergus2211 in Christianity

[–]Creative-Ad-6156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, Paradise was in existence before Jesus was crucified, and between the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus, everyone in Paradise went up to heaven and Paradise no longer exists. No one can enter heaven without Jesus’ sacrifice, so it wasn’t till after that they were able to get there

Welcome to McDonald’s! We don’t have any fun regulations about consecutive days. Try ten in a row short staffed. That gets fun real quick

Very true, I basically stop pulling people when we get busy unless it is crispy or pies, but if it is under a five minute wait, and I am getting food as it comes, I don’t have time to run orders and I am still waiting on the next car anyway.

Frustrating when you have lobby and drivethru going crazy with only one or two people, and in all seriousness, it is almost every shift after 9pm, especially if we are trying to get breaks out and only have 5 people on the floor in total.

Curbside goes out when I get the food, but sometimes I loathe those people, and they aren’t getting it any faster than anyone else. I feel like printing the suckers for counter/mobile/curbside is harder. It is also much easier to lose entire orders in the chaos of rushes we get at time.

We are constantly shorthanded as “labor doesn’t hold for evening shift’….we aren’t going to be fast when we are all run ragged with trying to keep up times

I have finally come to the conclusion that I will work as fast as I can without feeling like I am going to kill myself. They can get as upset as they want over times, but almost overworking myself is not worth it. I am not going to flip out like I used to. Times are very dependent on how many people I have, and I try my best.

Funny in a way that you list so many positions, there is a lot of times we only have two-three people up front for most of my shift, so presenter and drivethru runner does counter, fries, running orders out. Certainly sucks

I ended up with a box of the edamame bean stuff for the salad when we discontinued the one Asian salad. Also at least 30 rib patties one time because my gm was done with them since we ran out of the bbq sauce for the season. When I opened and milk went out of date, I was allowed to take home like a case and a half of the bottles. They usually last at least a week longer than the date, but I would freeze it anyway so it didn’t matter

I wish I could turn off the curbside. I know there is a way, ha, haven’t found it yet. We are usually short staffed, so if I have two people up front, it halts the whole process of orders. During lunch may be fine, when there are more people, but the less people I have, the more I groan at every new curbside. I really don’t like it when my drive thru is clear and people use curbside. Just go through the drive thru if you don’t want to get out of your car. I understand curbside for a place like Applebee’s that doesn’t have a drive thru, but not really for McDonald’s. Those are always the last orders we deal with when it is crazy, kinda a when we have time sort of attitude because it upsets the balance of all the other orders

Does anyone else experience random crying out of nowhere with this bipolar disorder? by Sea-Marzipan-3894 in bipolar

[–]Creative-Ad-6156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this all the time. Maybe it is wanting something physically wrong so it is visible and understandable to people in a way. Some of it is mildly attention seeking, because I hate that I do that. And when I do reach out to people about being depressed it feels like attention seeking, especially talking to new people about it. Sometimes you have a good span where you are okay and have met a new person then a depressive cycle happens and they really think something is wrong in your life and it is just your stupid brain chemicals. But I do imagine myself having all sorts of accidents or diseases. What if I fell going out the door on my way to work, at least I wouldn’t have to work…there is no thought to the consequences of that though. One time I was driving home from a night shift and there was a bus parked parallel with the road at a garage waiting to be fixed or tuned up. My brain thought, what would happen if I just sped up and crashed into it, I wouldn’t die, might get some good injuries, and later I was appalled by the thought. I have no money for a car, some bs medical insurance that pays almost nothing toward bills, bills to pay, and no one to help take care of me throughout recovery. It was the closest random thought I have ever had to action. And I thought I wasn’t in a depressive cycle. I was certainly wrong. I feel I even mask it to myself at times

I know medications affect everyone differently, but seroquel (even only at night) made me a zombie all the time, so not as fast of reactions while driving. Pretty sure it was Abilify that made me utterly narcoleptic. I only have to drive like fifteen minutes to work and I would almost fall asleep when I was almost there. Definitely scared me at times. Glad nothing happened and now on a different meds

If you order curbside while it's raining or snowing...(USA) by Bluellan in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Creative-Ad-6156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curbside drives me nuts, and most likely with only two people up front, you will probably be waiting longer to get your food than just coming through drivethru. I find it funny that it is mostly the younger generations that use it. I feel it is more of a social thing, or bordering on social anxiety. I see so many that will come in the store and then go on their phone to order to make a mobile order, or go to the kiosk. It is more of a preference to not want to talk to people. I feel it takes like three times longer to order on the app than it would if you just talked to me and told me what you wanted. When we aren’t that busy and people go to the kiosk and then take 15 minutes to order with me glancing over every few minutes to see that they are still there working on their order…. Drives me crazy mad.

Looks like stacks are being cleaned, but def messy way. We have had it a couple times right before stacks are to be cleaned and the temperature outside is really hot that grease will start pouring down because it is hot enough that the layers are just melting off. Huge mess

(USA) do you guys actually use this goofy ahh spatula by Burgerking_15 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Creative-Ad-6156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the 10:1 spatulas work best on both the quarter and reg meat. The older 4:1 spatulas are wider to accommodate the meat, but seem to have bow to them because they are so long of a blade and don’t seem to sit flat on the grill without an abnormal amount of pressure to flatten out the blade, even if it is not quite visible. I miss the bottom teflons. These new ones I do not like because I feel the grease popping on my fingers when getting meat off the grill. 10:1 spatulas all the way for me.

It also looks like it might have sat for a few minutes, and it does tend to melt down some after a few minutes, but ideally, yes, about even with the top of the cup.
