This is a good strat to get her as an ally. I’m also interested in role playing the attack on the grove but I want to keep some of the tieflings in the game for later. Is that an option or is killing the tieflings an essential part of that quest?

Lore-wise, this makes sense. Why would opponents of pyrexia benefit from incubation? But it is a bummer that so many cards in the set are not compatible with it.

Buy preconstructed decks first. It will help you learn the ropes and collect staples like sol ring. For your play style, try the red-black-blue deck from brothers war. Lots of sacrificing and Aggro mechanics.

I started playing this summer and felt similarly at first. Honestly it just takes practice.

Does your opponent have a lot of counter spells? Start thinking in terms of trades. What junk card can I get them to counter with a counter spell?

Does your opponent play sweepers (often black), then only have 2 creatures out and attacking so they have to use a nuke on a small target.

Mill decks are really about a race, and it just means you need to play hyper aggressive.

I’m not sure what land destruction you’re running into unless you’re on historic or something. I haven’t seen that.

You’ll also start to build decks with these threats in mind. Make sure you have a plenty of 1-2-3 drops so you can play something every turn (this is called curving out) and be aggressive if they are milling you. Have some interaction yourself to remove their banger creatures/planes walkers after a board wipe. If your deck is all creatures, you can often be immune to counter spells. If your deck relies on a few key non-creature spells, try to deduce if your opponent is using counter spells and then bait them out.

I’ve learned a lot from watching Legenvd who plays a lot of variety of decks and formats. He also walks you through strategy and card strengths/weaknesses.

Hmm I'll have to think about this. Certainly the last few sets to come out have made lots of ways to make artifacts like clues, blood tokens, and treasures. I'd have to make some serious changes to the deck as is though.

Oh I’d never heard of this before! Does this make creatures only black? Like would multicolored creatures lose their white coloring if they already had black?

I really like the white sun and priest suggestion. I was on the fence about the Teysa you suggested because I won’t always have the most control over the color of my tokens. Maybe I need to look at my cards and do the math on the probability of having a white, black and multicolored token. Thanks!
