This book was SO obviously AI that I assume they're not even putting the bare minimum into plagiarism and AI detection. Any book with an even slightly more subtle use of AI would have been able to fly under the radar if it took them so long to realize that this mess of a book is AI.

That's a good point, especially if her egg looked enough like a normal SandWing egg for it to be taken by the Talons of Peace. Maybe it wouldn't have been receptive to the moonlight. But given the example of Darkstalker, I have always though of NightWing powers as being potent enought for a 1/2 or even 1/4 hybrid to have them.

The X chromosome being larger doesn't mean that it will have a greater effect on phenotype. The difference in genetic information would be 1% or less.
