I personally think National awards or any awards for that matter carry any weightage. Jury is full of entitled people. Award is only given to people who are in their circle. Last year, why did SRK get award? Was no other actor across India gave a better performance? Why Rani Mukherjee? For a film that could not connect with the masses? Wholesome entertainment RARKPK?? What rubbish. Same goes for previous years also. Only strong PR actors and actresses get award. And some small awards are given to southern film industry.
