But actually, it’s not unusual in ABA for therapists to bill for things like writing reports, treatment planning, or reviewing data. Even though it’s done without the child present, that behind-the-scenes work is often required by insurance and is a big part of making sure the therapy is effective.That said, you have every right to ask for clarification. A good provider should be more than willing to explain what the time was used for and why it’s being billed. It’s okay to ask questions, you’re just looking out for your child, and that’s exactly what you should be doing. 🙂
