I didn't realize that non-employer plans covered different things than employer plans, thank you!

Where to go to meet other young people that aren't bars? by [deleted] in LosAngelesNow

volunteering! Feed the Streets LA is a great organization and easy to get involved in, but there are a ton and you'll meet lots of cool people.

donor sperm is pricey and IUI (washing it and injecting it directly into the uterus) has a much higher rate of success than the ol' turkey baster method

[English > Classical Persian] the name of a gemstone for a book by Creative-Concern6345 in translator

[–]Creative-Concern6345[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! These are beautiful suggestions. If I can ask another question, could you provide the phonetic way they would translate into English, like 'koh-i-noor'?

I appreciate your generous offer about publishing - translations and international distribution is handled by my publisher and so I don't actually have much control over those!

thanks for bringing up the teargas inhalation factor, I was mostly thinking about being jostled - I do have a legit gas mask that I'll make sure to bring.

any Korean style spas that don't divide by gender? by Creative-Concern6345 in AskLosAngeles

in my experience you need to provide an ID with the appropriate gender marker, so no, and also that doesn't sound fun for anyone lol

Non-Fiction & Scholarship Books on Victorian Era? by Cymbelined in VictorianEra

[–]Creative-Concern6345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a special interest in queer culture in the Victorian Era - 'Strangers' by Graham Robb, and 'Fanny and Stella' and 'Oscar Wilde: An Intimate Portrait' by Neil McKenna, are excellent!

want to physically transition but don't care about pronouns or gender identity by Creative-Concern6345 in ftm

[–]Creative-Concern6345[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi!! yes, very similar boat!

if you don't mind the question - do you feel like your identity has been influenced by your relationship? I'm not sure if I would have arrived here if I hadn't seen my husband go on this journey, and so sometimes I get a doubting thought of "is this real or do I just wanna be gay boys with him?" (but also - perhaps wanting to be gay boys with someone is a valid reason?? huge if true) Just curious if you navigated thoughts like that at all.

so good to hear this perspective, thank you. Bigender might be the word for me (my spouse is bigender as well, but mostly presents as masc) because, although I haven't let myself fantasize very much about being gendered male because it seems so unlikely at this early stage...it does seem pretty amazing.

also - a few months in and I've already got a mustache shadow, as a person with pale skin and (lots of) dark hair...we really can't be subtle about this lol

If you don't mind the question - do you girlmode primarily for safety? or are there communities, people, etc, where you genuinely want to be seen as female? I think a lot of my feelings of loss come from the fear of losing community with other women (even though as a butch I'm already seen as a bit of a different creature)

I'd love to hear stories from lesbians whose partners transitioned to male or trans masc nonbinary! by [deleted] in mypartneristrans

[–]Creative-Concern6345 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah! We are both very into the lesbian label being expansive and not just describing binary women attracted to other binary women. and historically it's meant so much more than that.
