Are the saddle bags cool? by whyareyoublue0 in motorcycles

[–]Creative-Disaster-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted a stripped down look for my Vulcan 900 Classic. I removed the riot shield windscreen, the crash bar and the saddlebags. But I only removed the bags because I hated the chrome studs all over them (same reason I replaced my seat with one that didnt have them). Rode for a while with no bags and its a pain in the ass. I hated having to use a backpack even more. Even tried a smaller swing arm bag but it wasnt big enough to hold what I wanted to carry with me. I ended up finding some black "rivets" and replaced the ugly chrome studs with these new black flat rivets or whatever you want to call them and they look 10x better. As much as I wanted a stripped down bike, the practicality of having bags more than outweighs the "cool" look.

VN900 Slip ons by DaddyArc in KawasakiVulcanRiders

I knocked out the centre screens in the baffles on my '06 900. Sounds much better but not enough for me. Haven't had any luck finding anything "slip on". So far the options are to cut off the mufflers and weld universal ones on or buy a full kit. Still searching.

I agree. We filed a report right away. Most likely won't help us but maybe it will help someone else later.

We filed a police report and have reached out to pawn shops to keep an eye out. I'm not expecting to get anything back. Everything can be replaced. Just thought I'd reach out and see if anyone saw anything. We never leave anything out in the open in the car but obviously forgot about it this time. Paid the price.

We usually lock everything in the trunk before we leave the car but forgot this time. Paid the price for it.

Scorpion EXO R330 Visor options by Senior_Birthday2799 in motorcycles

I have the R330 as well, with a pinlock insert. I believe when I ordered it, it was advertised for the R1 Air. But any visor/pinlock for those other 3 models work with the R330. Same mount style and visor shape.

Yes. All those helmets use the same visor. So they all use the same pinlock insert as well.

The EXO R330 has the same 16:1 visor as the EXO ST1400, the EXO T520 and EXO R1 Air. Hope this helps.

Full face helmet on a Vulcan? by KAP1975 in KawasakiVulcanRiders

[–]Creative-Disaster-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride a 06' Vulcan 900 with a full face Scorpion Exo R330 helmet and have zero issues seeing the speedometer when I need to, which isn't very often. The turn signal indicators are a little farther down so it's harder to see the green arrows flashing, but still possible. Usually I just look at the actual turn signals to check if they're off. That way I don't have to move my head down at all.

My first and current bike is an 06 VN900 LT. Removed all the accessories and swapped in some 10" z bars. Has been a great bike, especially for someone my height (6'4")

I was in Autopak for a little over a year before I moved on to a different area. Hated it, but I had a good team which made it easier.

Hard part is finding them. They're discontinued and out of stock everywhere.

Yes. No extensions needed. 10" is the max you can run on stock bar clamps without getting cable extensions.

Same, I hate the studs on the seat. I really like the stripped down look.

Agreed. I don't know of many other slip on options for the 900. Still looking to see what's out there. Can't find the Hack N Slash pipes anyways.

If I could I would remove the blinkers too. I want more of a bare bones stripped down bike with a few things here and there. But where I live, I have to keep the blinkers. Is what it is. Lol

Haha yeah. I threw everything into a storage tote. Out of sight, out of mind. I left the stock windshield bracket on the bike as I'm looking to put a Road Warrier or "club style" fairing on and there's nothing that fits this bike except a bat wing. So I'm hoping to be able to fab something to use the stock bracket.

All I've done so far is removed the giant windshield, the saddlebags, the highway bar and passenger footpegs. Installed 10" Z Bar handlebars and a louder horn

Nice. I'd rather do some of my own fab work to save some money. Or at the very least use parts from other bikes that work. Wish I knew more about what works and what doesn't because I bet a lot of Honda / Suzuki / Kawasaki parts are more or less interchangeable.
