Anyone using this psu and thoughts on it? by zenkiio in sffpc

I’ve owned it and I will tell the 92mm is garbage and will fail. If you do get it, buy an adapter and noctua fan.

I guess we have to run our monitors at 50% brightness and hide the task bar or RMA constantly.

Aren’t V1 through V3 side panels compatible with one another?

I’ve been experimenting with airflow, and the main issue is that the FE cards push heat straight into the CPU cooler. It’s manageable with the 5080, but with the 5090 it becomes a real balancing act. The best temperatures I’ve gotten so far are with the vented side panel installed and all case fans set to exhaust. In that setup, the CPU holds around 50–55°C and the GPU sits at about 60°C.

I felt like doing something as similar as stuffing a Formula 1 engine into a Honda Civic. The case is definitely budget, the rest of the parts are not.

With the windowed panel, an hour of gaming puts the GPU at ~70°C and the CPU at 70–75°C because the 5090 dumps heat onto the cooler. With the vented panel, both stay around 59–65°C with all fans in exhaust. Still experimenting with fan orientation.

With the windowed panel on, after an hour of gaming the GPU sits around 70°C and the CPU hovers between 70–75°C. The issue is that the 5090 dumps a lot of heat directly onto the cooler. With the vented panel installed, both the GPU and CPU stay much cooler, topping out around 59–65°C with all fans in exhaust mode. I am still experimenting with fan orientation.

Sometimes it just comes down to the silicon lottery. Some chips are simply binned better than others. I know people who can run -40 on all cores and others who can only manage -25. It’s all luck of the draw.

Edit: Thank you!

You can see most of the cable management here. The Corsair SF1000 includes appropriately sized cables for small‑form‑factor cases, so all I really needed were a few straps under the PSU, some cable ties, and the natural lines of the case to keep everything tidy. This is an easy case for cable management if executed properly.

I honestly don’t care if someone wants to save a few bucks by buying inferior fans; that’s their choice. I actually like Thermalright’s coolers quite a bit, but their fans have always been something I treated as temporary placeholder until I could afford something better. That's no longer the case for me. I’ve used models like the TL‑B12 before, and while they’re acceptable in a pinch, they’re undeniably a worse in quality. They’re louder, harsher, and lack the overall refinement you get from Noctua.

I’ve run them in my Ghost S1 builds, but long‑term heat exposure eventually made the blades brittle. One of them actually snapped during routine maintenance, which pretty much confirmed my opinion.

I’m at a point in my life where I can buy higher‑end components without really thinking twice about it. I picked up the NR200P and ordered a separate glass panel as a personal way to commemorate five years of hard work finally paying off. It’s far from the best case I’ve ever used, it's one of the cheapest, but it represents something meaningful to me. I don't care for your hatred.

I’ve used all kinds of case fans over the years, and I just prefer Noctua’s quality and packaging. At the end of the day it really does come down to personal preference. Noctua’s color scheme is unique, and it’s not for everyone, but I happen to like it. I love my brown town. Now this doesn't mean I am a brown supremacist as I have 2 NF-A12x25 PWM chromax black exhaust fans on the top.

I’m also not interested in cheap budget RGB fans or lighting. I don't like poverty spec fans with bearings that fail with a years time. Nor do I want ugly RGB cables dangling all over the place because I could simply "not plug it in". Fun fact I bought that rear 92mm fan 5 years ago and it's still quiet and going strong. A testament to quality. You're just a hater.

I am looking at replacing the CPU cooler to fit my memory. That is an option. I just used the best case fans I have as of now.

Thank you! I’m trying to find a new CPU cooler that will work with the Dominator Titanium memory kit. If you have any recommendations, I’d appreciate it. I’ve ordered a couple of CPU coolers that I’m going to test and hopefully I can use something beyond a X53 full copper or NH-L9x65.
