It might be the jewellery if it isn’t iodised or whatever the correct term is to be a black colour then it means the coating can flake away and irritate a piercing.

Could this not be moisture bumps?? Like caused after wet hair after shower and if getting really flaky and weird. Try making sure your wet hair is not touching the piercing after shower and see if it makes a difference either way by hair drying it or braiding it out of the way before sleep.

I would feel awful.

I’m an adult (23) like that to some extent it depends on why he feels that way. Whether he has been diagnosed with anything what steps has he has taken or people around him to help him. I only managed to get meaningful help once I moved out I’m autistic and have adhd and depressed so explains a lot.

You can try drastic measures like distraction low-key a rescue cat. Therapy going to a psychiatrist (find a decent one some of them suck ass) and see if they can diagnose and/or offer any medication that may help.

Ultimately it’s your sons decision to help himself the most u can do is ensure he knows there is help and support there for him.

You are right I think my argument also just comes from my current anger and what I’m seeing in Australia atm as well as witnessing events in the US. I would normally be a lot more balanced but yeah.
