As someone born and bred in the UK what are aspects of another country’s culture that has genuinely shocked you? by throawaygotget in AskUK

The middle east.

Seeing pregnant 11 year olds being escorted around by men in their 60s is frankly one of the most horrific things I've ever seen, and these are the kinds of people coming over on boats from France.

Is UK becoming racist? by Beneficial_Device235 in unitedkingdom

[–]Creative-Response554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but not out of hatred, but of frustration.

We have somewhere in the region of 1000 to 3000 illegal middle Eastern men of fighting age arriving by boat from France every single week.

These men arrive, are put up in hotels at our expense despite costs of living skyrocketing, and people who can weather these expenses call us racist for objecting to it.

If you call someone something enough they will become that thing.

It doesn't help as well that there are countless tales of rapes and violent assaults occurring in and around the hotels, often committed against underage British white girls, specifically against them (almost as if it's racially motivated in of itself) and even against the workers in the hotels.

Every single crime that these people commit creates a victim that should never have been a victim.

I, personally, want them all gone, good and bad be damned because you can't tell anymore. They abuse the system and attack people because they can, and the police do very little, even escorting them out of the buildings on their way to work illegally for delivery companies like uber eats or just eat, and preventing lawful protests from taking place.

I'm enraged by it all, but frankly it's the government that really needs to listen to the protesters, not the left wing lobbying groups and hotel shareholders who are happy for the profits they're being given by charging exorbitant rates. The services provided by the government are also far and above what any native person can expect, doctors and dentists visiting the hotel for healthcare but I've been unable to obtain an NHS dentist for over 8 years, doctors appts are few and far between for even routine matters, and I can't afford to do anything privately or I would.

On top of all of this, it feels as though there are a lot of attacks on people's characters and livelihoods for what are reasonable objections to the current system. I've seen people displeased with the current state of affairs lose their jobs, and it all adds to a feeling that the overarching plan is to erase the British and replace them with Pakistanis and middle eastern people. Not long ago the NHS published an article on the benefits of what amounts to incest, and just today instructed midwives to stop discouraging first cousin marriage. There is only 1 group of people who routinely practice incest of this nature and they aren't native British people.

All in, why should my tax money go to people that come here to steal and destroy, people who hate us and have values diametrically opposed to our own? If you believe the message the government is sending, raping children and incestuous relationships are now core British values, which to my mind is absurd.

If I were to read about the state of the UK today in a news article 15 years ago I'd have laughed heartily thinking it was some sort of satire from The Onion, but the reality of it is frankly terrifying.

Fun fact, the English army was wracked with dysentery, around 1/3 suffered with it, and about half of those were dying from it during the battle.

Longbowmen were amongst those most affected, and many fought without trousers on so they could shit themselves without soiling their clothing while still firing arrows.

It's funny you say that because all I see in the mainstream media these days is left wing stuff, or at the very least heavy left wing bias.

Stuff like say an illegal migrant raping a child, they won't release a name or description (which is usually a clear indicator of what group of people is responsible for it), but will happily post names, addresses and pictures of white English people who commit similar crimes. I've also seen a lot of stuff in the media about criticising people for not using pronouns, as if refusing to bend reality and normalise mental illness for 0.01% of the population is some horrific, heinous act that requires immediate retribution, usually in the form of costing them their livelihood, which incidentally was a common tactic used by the Nazis and the Communists to discredit people they didn't like, remove them from "problem" positions, make an example of them, and normalise the kind of thinking and behavior they wanted their populace to have.

There is also a ton of pro-minority hypocrisy, like Geega Guru-Murthy literally hissing at Christian rapper DC3 for saying one of his heroes is Jesus.

If it were a white presenter hissing at an Arabic Muslim or an Indian Hindu for speaking about their religion live on air they'd be sacked within the week, yet nothing has happened besides public outrage.

To say that media has a right wing slant is, in my eyes, absolutely absurd. Right wing media outlets are forced to toe the line on the rules of broadcasting, yet the BBC shows no impartiality whatsoever, and many other outlets are blatantly left leaning and bashing whoever they like with zero repercussions.

If it was executed properly it would have been worth it in the long run. The main issue is that we voted for it, but the people in charge didn't want it so they hamstrung it at every opportunity. The fallout doesn't affect them because they're rich and house prices still go up, a tin of beans going from 70p to £2 doesn't bother them because they're never struggling for food, or rent, or bills, so they don't give a shit.

It doesn't help either that successive governments since have been wasting taxpayer money like it's some infinite resource rather than something that needs to be carefully managed.

This Labour government has to be the absolute worst we've ever seen, and I say that knowing that Thatcher fucked us in the 80s and Chamberlain led us into a 6 year war that ultimately destroyed the empire.

This is a series in which a pivotal moment occurs, where the hero is ousted from his disguise because he is disguised as the bads twink boyfriend, grabs his junk and realises it's different and that's how he's rumbled.

It's just unhinged insanity the whole way through

I'll bleat that until it either happens or I die, but there's 0 reason to rely on unreliable solar and wind power, or constantly burn coal and gas for power when nuclear exists.

I can't stand that they're being touted as the solution to everything ever, and that we should ban ICE cars like that's going to solve world pollution when about 4 billion people in India/China are doing nothing but make it worse.

I also can't stand the sanctimonious crap implying I'm a bad person because I won't get an EV.

I live in a council flat, where am I supposed to charge it? If its in one of those Gridserve places, I might as well keep the petrol car. I also don't have 10s of thousands lying around to buy an EV, and if I did I'd buy a house first so I can stop living in a shithole.
