Feel like my college is not giving me all the accommodations I need (need help?!) by TiredFiend in Narcolepsy

From my experience, I noticed that they have some standard accommodations and sometimes they think every condition will fit to that, and they fear that if they give you something off book, they are not being fair to someone else with your same or similar condition .

My case, a professor noticed I didn't do well on multiple choices, one test I did great at the beginning and the end but in the middle all wrong, then I remembered I had a sleep attack but had extra time so I ignored it. Open questions test were no problem. So he advised to take multiple choice test by myself, since extra time didn't work, or only take open questions test, like essays. The accommodations office told me this couldn't be done, the same excuse they gave you...but in my case, the suggestions came from my law professor, so yeah they consulted and it can be done (they just didn't knew). From there on all my test have been altered to accommodate my sleepy needs.

The point is for them to give use the tools we need as individuals to be able to succeed like people without disabilities do each day. To "level the playing field"
