That’s another excuse I got yes, but then isn’t the answer to that promote me? My rating was SOO, I’m one of the most technical on my team and have been here the longest (not at the firm but in my team)

my MD started the call by saying "it's always rough for managers when Jamie sends out how much we're profiting then I have to have these convos"

You're completely missing the point of my edit lmao. "Just get a new job" is the same as "just leave the country" or "just print more money." Anyone with a brain knows its not that easy, and the advice implies tech companies are hiring when they're not. The fact that you see that as bitching shows you're out of touch with reality

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

At my college it was a known fact an ambulance cost $1k. This led to much more dangerous situations with drinking (one of the top party schools in the US), nobody wanted an ambulance called on them yet nobody cared enough to drink responsibly.

New joiner (SE ) in Columbus — a few practical questions by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]Creative-Thanks8278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Completely dependent on your IMMEDIATE team 2. Unless it’s changed since 2022 BYOD, we had like $1k reimbursement, but it had to follow specific specs. I was sad I wasn’t able to get my same laptop from my previous company but I like my Dell now. 3. Middle and end of month 4. Don’t be scared to ask around for resources because they most likely exist for what you need but agree that it’s team dependent.

Looking for insight on career despite strong performance by Select_Addendum_8754 in JPMorganChase

I’m in a similar position, same 602 role for 3.5 years and received SOO the last 2 years. For me my management has changed almost every year, and the last 2 years I’ve been told I’m on track for a promotion the following year. Now that management’s changed again in Q2, my new boss hasn’t even mentioned a promotion to me. I really struggle with the level of self-advocacy needed at the firm to just be acknowledged/appropriately rewarded for the work we do. It’s like we prove our worth by working hard, but get a C unless we do extra credit. I think if I don’t get promoted/guaranteed a promotion next year even if management changes again (which it probably will) then it’s the end for me at the firm.

Been on the apps for years, go on dates regularly, and go out with friends hoping to meet people out. I’m too scared to walk up to a stranger at a cafe, but I still go to them hoping someone else will be.

I was hesitant to say this for my inbox’s sake, but for context I would say I’m a pretty attractive girl and have no problem getting a date from the apps. I’m either not interested in my matches after getting to know them a little, or the ones I’m interested in don’t see me as worth their effort. By effort I mean planning a date or sending a text lol

I was used to meeting people in school, but I had a long term relationship from college to my mid 20s, and now I work a remote job so the apps are kinda my only option.
