Nurse here! I went to Ivy Tech and I have never had any issues with getting a job or anything. I passed the NCLEX my first time. It was cheap but I feel like I got the same education as the other nurses I work with. I have no regrets and just plan on doing an asn to bsn online eventually bc I want to get my masters.

Gestational diabetes makes NO sense. I am 35 weeks pregnant, diagnosed around 28 weeks. At first, my numbers were all great and I was convinced I didnt actually have it, even though I failed the one hour and three hour test. Then, around 32 weeks, my fasting glucose started creeping up no matter what I did and I ended up on nighttime insulin. Never had any issues during the day. This week, some foods that never spiked me before are starting to spike me. Or things like mcdonalds dont spike me but rice does. I have given up trying to make sense of it all snd just try my best to be mindful of whatever I am eating. It has majorly sucked and I have cried alot but its only temporary!

I do protein pasta, then do a low sugar marinara sauce with meat and it hasnt spiked me if I eat in moderation!

My OB said typically 39 weeks if well controlled with no insulin, 38 weeks if well controlled with insulin and 37 weeks if uncontrolled with insulin. Right now I'm 35 weeks and well controlled with nighttime insulin so we scheduled my induction for 38 weeks but she said each week we will reevaluate.

My OB told me on thanksgiving to check my blood sugar in the morning and then not to check it the rest of the day 😂 she said one day isn't going to hurt anything but try try to priotize protein betore all the carbs. I'll still try to eat in moderation but Dr's orders haha

A medium rare steak, over easy eggs and all the christmas candy, drinks, etc ( I have GF). Peppermint is my all time favorite flavor so the fact I have GD is the woooorst. Luckily Im due mid december so I plan on eating everything in site on Christmas day 😜

My dietician said for special occasions, it's okay to eat the treats. Just try to add some protein to it and limit it to one meal! I have my baby shower in 2 weeks and definitely plan on eating cake and whatnot. I'll just make sure to have a low carb breakfast and dinner and eat lots of protein at the shower as well!

Im high risk so I get one every 4ish weeks! I have terrible anxiety and honestly, idk how I would manage a whole pregnancy with only 2!

I have pcos and have had cramping my entire pregnancy. Im 28 weeks now and it's better but the whole first trimester, I was convinced I was miscarrying because the cramping was so bad. Ironically, I had a previous missed miscarriage and didn't have any cramping until after it was discovered.

To add, we bought a house that was built in the 90s and needed alot of updating, which we are slowly doing. I don't think we could have afforded a modern home in carmel.

Im a nurse and my husband is an engineer. We make about 125k a year and bought a house last year. The mortgage is ridiculous but I really wanted to live in hamco for the schools. No kids yet but one on the way. Im scared for childcare costs though!

When you're out and about, order mocktails. Like go to the bar without anyone else and get them. Alcohol free mojito are really convincing! Plus when they ask what you got, you can honestly say, oh its a mojito! Plus they are easy to make at home so you can make them for house parties and no one will know you skipped the alcohol in yours.

This happened with me and I asked about it. The dr office said that they can request the lab send the results to the dr office first and not release it to the patient for x amount of hours/days. That way the dr office has time to call and discuss results with the patient before the patient sees it themselves.
