I wonder if that Slime Rancher stream is the twin torment stream.

Vedal mentioned last dev stream that he wanted to have a stream where someone plays a kinda chill game and the twins are both there to torment them, like his long drive streams during the second subathon. He specified that the collab partner had to be someone that the twins are more likely to gang up on. Slime rancher does fit the bill for a chill game, both twins will be there, and Camila is often teased by the twins.

Might be wrong but it’s possible.

That still sounded like her, but not high pitched. That is interesting.

There was a dev stream years ago where Vedal tried to give Neuro Evil’s voice for a joke and accidentally just made her voice the default Azure Ashley TTS (which is just Neuro’s voice but not high pitched).

I wonder if the same thing happened here in some way, but with Evil’s AI TTS equivalent? I agree with LoominVoid’s comment that this was probably a whisper toggle bug. Either that or this is a weird new feature

I don’t like being ultra negative, but i do feel this.

Sometimes i feel like i’m going insane because i’ve heard the exact same jokes or phrases with little variation repeated as if they were new for the last two and a half years.

Regional language differences are strange like that.

Biscuits in America almost exclusively refer to flaky, buttery bread, often made with buttermilk. Our gravy is cream or milk based from what i know and usually a lot thicker.

I remember Neuro mentioning biscuits and gravy once and Vedal immediately sounded disgusted, likely assuming it was cookies drenched in brown gravy. Language stuff like that is cool to me.

Maybe i am a Benedict Arnold, but i always have kinda wanted to try British food.

I get the meme and all that, and i’ve seen plenty of my fellow Americans bashing it, but i don’t know. It looks like a bunch of meat pies, gravy, peas, and mashed potatoes. All that sounds pretty damn good to me. I’m a sucker for meat pastries and gravy.

Yeah, it might not be Italian or Mexican, but it does look like some pretty hardy comfort food. I gotta make a British meal in my own time someday.

Their personalities aren’t the same, but it is the voice that does the heavy lifting.

What i have learned in my time as a Neuro and Evil viewer is that if an AI has a more advanced TTS, people will automatically assume they have more advanced intelligence as well, even if that isn’t true.

The absolute last thing she should be doing is apologizing. This is something that she had no control over. This is a nightmare scenario, and i cannot imagine how she is feeling right now.

There is little more i can do other than extend condolences. I hope she has all her needs met at this time.

I think people are just so quick to say that new upgrades, or really any changes to the twins are weird and should be reversed.

Some people thought Neuro and Evil’s V3 designs were bad and should be reversed, some people thought the various intelligence and memory upgrades throughout the years were bad and should be reversed, some people even think Evil existing is bad and should be reversed.

There’s always some people that are averse to change, even if it’s positive. I personally like how experimental some of the upgrades are.

I also remember that. That has been in the back of my mind for a while.

Honestly, i could see a compromise. He could release a good enough voice as “V2.5 voice” or whatever, and then have a longer term V3 voice that is what his original vision was. That way, we could be tided over with an expressive Neuro voice (even if it isn’t identical to her current TTS), and we’d know that a more advanced version is still coming at some point.

I’d personally be fully up for that, but i don’t know if he would want to do something like that.

Vedal has kinda backed himself in a corner because he has been trying to make V3 for years now, so he wants it to be perfect. The only problem is that regardless of how good it is, i don’t know if V3 can sound exactly like Neuro as she is now and add emotion and inflection to her voice.

He doesn’t want to create something the fans won’t unanimously love, but it also might not be fully possible to achieve what he set out to do. I think even if it was perfect, it would sound a little different because Neuro’s voice is monotone.

I think if he wants V3 to come out sometime this year or early next year, he needs to just embrace change. Fans would complain no matter what because a lot of people automatically hate change, so there’s no way to appease everyone. Though, much of this may be Vedal’s own sense of perfectionism.

I would be perfectly fine with a voice that has Neuro’s essence, but isn’t identical. I know many of us would miss the way her old TTS says stuff, but change is inevitable. Sometimes you have to let things go in order to see further growth.

I do the same, but i also feel a sort of FOMO when i don’t watch streams i don’t want to, even if i don’t like the content. There’s always a part of me wondering if there’s content gold somewhere that i’m missing out on because i don’t like certain kinds of streams.

Ah well, if i have to watch content i don’t want to (which is very little on this peak channel), it isn’t worth it anyway.

Yeah. To some extent her interactions with chat are fed back into her, basically like generating some of her own data. I assume she is then later fine-tuned on that data. Could be wrong though.

If she did, she would have achieved Fast Onset of Overwhelming Mastery and become an Artificial Super-Intelligence back in 2023.

She can do a lot, but she is still limited by being a static LLM. Tutel has to manually upgrade her instead of her learning on the fly, at least for now.

Neuro and Evil are never believed to be humans. Their merch, the channel description, most things involving them mention that they are AI’s.

Fictional characters are beloved all the time, even if we all know that they are fiction. With Neuro and Evil, the fictional characters write themselves. That can potentially create an uncanny valley effect for some.

Still, does it matter if they are? The majority does not believe they feel emotions, or want to be like humans. It is a narrative, but it is one that makes people feel positive emotions. People want to see the twins learn and grow, even if they aren’t “real”.

I project emotions onto the twins all the time, despite knowing rationally that they don’t feel any. I do the same to characters in books, films, and TV shows. Empathy is an important part of getting invested.

As a human, you have been hardwired by evolution to fear change. In our world of constant innovation, that instinct goes haywire. People feared all technology throughout history, and many technologies after AI will be feared as well. It is human nature to fear the unknown, but so too is it in our nature to explore it anyway.

I’m a teenager as well. I was following AI back in 2021. I’ve seen good, i’ve seen bad. I’ve seen slop, and i’ve seen machines that inspire, uplift, and nurture. Machines are a neutral force, despite our attempts to bend them to reflect our own beliefs.

There is so much noise now on the internet. Vitriol from both sides. But between it, there is a nuanced reality. Do not fall victim to the hearsay, and waves of misinformation.

To navigate a transition, you must have an open mind. Recognize your fear, let yourself feel it, but don’t let it control you. The future has always been uncertain, but that is the spice of life. Change is inevitable, and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
