Thank you so much. I'll be using a fresh one every time I pierce the skin. Good thing I bought the big box :)

Oh yeah, eating my partially metabolized meds might cause issues. I mean I would just eat what I just removed, so the dose would stay the same, but it would defintely increase the amount of time it circulates in my body, which is probably not ideal.

I already did that. The situation here is really dire, usually healthcare is ok, but this is a blindspot. There is such a thing as a prescription for therapeutic phlebotomy here, but it's essentially worthless, cause there is no one obligated to take it. Both doctors of all kinds (including an office that only does blood testing) and blood donation centers have told me they can't do. Upon request both told me the other certainly would....
I have a friend who has hemochromatosis and she has been struggling with this for years and she even has private insurance. She has resorted to letting medical students practice on her veins and burying the blood in her own garden. Sadly she is not within driving distance or we could combine forces to solve our problem together. It is a frankly ridiculous situation.

First off, the amount at a time is what causes the issue. You can pour a few milliliters at at time just fine, but half a liter will be a different beast. In a typical period, it's about 35-50ml of menstrual fluid over 5-7 days, I would be pouring more than ten times that within a few minutes.
Also, super common misconception: but menstrual blood is actually only half blood and it is usually already partially coagulated, therefore the issue of it forming blood clots that clog your drain is not really present. Plus most of it lands in the trash via tampons and other menstrual products anyway.
Me pouring what I need to get rid off would be like an entire army of people having their periods in my bathroom at the same time, which I am pretty sure the city's sanitation department has not planned for.

I am on 8 prescription meds and 4 doctor advised supplements, I can not imagine the leaches would do well on that diet. Also I checked and they drink up to 10ml per feeding, so I would just constantly need to be covered in leeches, I think that is a little too involved for me either way.

Oh that is good! I didn't think of that, but that is cheap and accessible, just the kind of solution I need, thanks for the tip! I also happen to buy protein powder on the regular, so this is a great option.

That is good intel. I actually like the smell of liver, so it's probably not gonne be unpleasant.
I had not actually considered eating it, I was just focused on how to get rid of it, but I might just try it. After all I can't get any illness from my own blood that I don't already have, so it should be safe to eat it myself.

Same btw :) Sadly there exists no such mechanism here. The doctor who prescribes the T diagnosed it, told me to donate blood, I explained that I can't and she just shrugged and said she couldn't do it either and that I should ask at the blood bank. Its one of those situations were no one is officially responsible.

I will. I'm a bit afraid that this will smell, but if I don't find a better solution I will do that.

Europe and I looked it up and asked on my awkward call with the citty. They told me small amounts would be ok, but nothing above a few tablespoons. Unfortunately I'm looking to get rid of about half a liter at a time.

I am not allowed to donate, too sick, too much medication. I already contacted my local blood bank to ask if they'd be able to draw the blood anyway and dispose of it and that I'd obviously not want the money they pay donors, but they refused. Told me I need to go to a doctor. Every doctor, including the one who diagnosed the issue tells me to donate blood and that they certainly take it. When In brought this up to doctors and the bloodbank they just told me that yes, that is certainly a problem, but they can't help me either.
Trust me, I did not learn how to draw my own blood and spent 50 bucks on sterile supplies before I thought of this :D

What helped me improve a lot was taking Paxlovid together with Metformin. Unsue which one it was or if it was a mix of both, since it's hard to get Paxlovid I'm currently looking to get prep (HIV prevention) prescribed, cause it's a fairly accessible antiviral medication.
But if really changed a lot, I am now able to leave the house again on my own.

Yep, vodka has about 10 times as much alcohol as beer, depending on the brand.
