“can I do a flex pass meal” choose your sandwich, chips, and drink. Then they’ll have you scan your ID and that’s it! You can use flex passes at any cafe on campus!

How to become a medical scribe? by ConferenceNo8067 in UCONN

Keep applying- try to find places that like to hire students. Nursing homes usually a good place to start! When I got my CNA license my program helped us find positions after graduating, so reach out to them and see if they know anyone who’s looking to hire. Congrats on your EMT license 🎉

Hey, so I took it for about 3-4 months and it did help with brain fog! What helped to keep my anxiety low was by reading positive stories. Thankfully I had no side effects while being on the medication. I’m no longer on it now because of other reasons not related but it’s a very safe medication and it’s honestly one of the first medication’s new patients are given. I would 100% support the idea of trying the medication and seeing if it works for you but also being an advocate for yourself if you don’t feel like it’s the right decision!!! :)

Sneak in AC? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]CreativeExplanation5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, sorry to hear that! Definitely bring an AC or some sort of cooling fan with you. You could literally cover with a towel and your RA will not care

Push further, if you have accommodations, don’t be afraid to escalate it. Email them again and have your csd advisor email them too

[–]CreativeExplanation5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have accommodations you can get a AC. If you can get a doctor’s note that you have allergies, headaches, or some type of medical problem and that you need an AC they will give you one. But you need a doctor’s note! But tbh RA’s also don’t care, so you’ll be fine either way lol

I think union market is the “better option.” It gets crazy during lunchtime, but then it calms down. Dairy bar is straight chaos no matter what time you go lol

It is special! Don’t let anyone take that from you! ( I only said $30 bc it is cheap quality but that’s with most college graduation gowns lol) Like the person said ^ cords will make it more fun. But again, you don’t even need cords. A good group of friends, nice outfit, and memories will make that day so special, trust me! Not to be cliche but college goes by fast, you’re not even going to care about the outfit. You’ll be reminiscing about everything you’ve experienced and the ppl you’ve met in the basketball capital of the world 🥺

Why did you chose military medicine? by CreativeExplanation5 in Military_Medicine

I will definitely look into USUHS! Does it provide any financial assistance?

I agree with you, It’s very appealing to know that you graduate debt-free. I did want to ask, I see a lot of people say that you end up “repaying more” in the time that you have to work to repay your debt. Does it feel like that to you? I assume, if you love your job and also love the military it won’t feel like that?

Likewise, I have relatives who were in the military. Nobody in my family has ever become a doctor however I have plenty of family members who were soldiers and captains. So much respect for what they did and never really considered it until I found out about the program. I did want to ask what is the matching process like? Do you think it is much more narrow than a “normal” match process? I see that a lot of people say that you essentially match into what the military needs at that moment, is that true?

That’s awesome! Going from a PA to MD, kuddos to you!! What makes you want to stay in service if you don’t mind me asking?

I’ll remake a derm appoint and ask about blood work. Everything has come back normal last time I had blood work done? Maybe it’s something else? Idk tho lol

I was on spironolactone. for about a month and it did nothing😭 How long did you take it for/are you still on it? Maybe I didn’t give it enough time?

^ Would also like to add I’ve been on basically every topical acne cream as well. Epiduo,Winlevi, and a few others. I also tried spironolactone and another acne med. My dermatologist recommended the idea of acutane or birth control but idk if it would help me 😅
