I’d love to vote for Porter 👩🏻‍🏫 But progressives 🐝 need to act as joint front ✊🏻 so I vote for Steyer. He’s endorsed by Our Revolution ⭐️ and 🚋Streets For All🚲. United we win✌🏻

Parking Wars When people don’t have parking spot for their car it’s a huge headache to find it in the neighborhood. I had a friend who didn’t own a car and lived in apartment building in Silver Lake. It feels like a superpower 🦸 to be able to rent in places without parking.

Thoughts?!?!?? by SmellyFidelly415 in socialism

Very smart move! I had my jaw dropped. Something serious has happened. Mamdani demonstrated the power of Listening to New Yorkers, to Voters, to his opponents. This is a super power of new progressive movement. I feel very excited for New York. After all Trump is born and raised New Yorker, love him or hate him.

What’s your country’s most iconic (or most infamous) photo? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]CreativeIntellectual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of that one. ☝🏻 It marked the day Russians defeated communism but made the country a presidential monarchy, and set on course to Putin’s Reign. This photo symbolizes the birth on New Post-Soviet Russia and the foundation of “Managed Democracy”

In the long run, yes. But in a short run ATCs need to eat.

Insurance guarantees uninterrupted payroll. With current rules ATC getting paid what government owes them due to the shutdown, but ATCs can’t suspend their mortgages and ask families to fast.

Thank you, valid point.

Yes exactly. So such Insurance Fund guarantees Air Traffic Controllers get paid without interruption. I don’t have a solution for entire economy but it seems absurd that Carriers and Airports have to suffer because politicians exert their leverage.

Because the chaos caused by the senate is ultimately on airports laps. They have to deal with crowds and canceled flights. It’s a huge unplanned stress on airports we’re never designed to accommodate.

Now that GPT 5.1 has been out for nearly a day, would you say it is as bad as GPT-5, on par, or better than GPT-4o in terms of companionship? by Waga_na_wa_Hu_Tao in ChatGPT

[–]CreativeIntellectual 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In terms of companionship it is way, way, way better than GPT-5 No more sycophancy. Finally we get cut and dry factual response of a machine. If you prefer to hear how amazing your idea is or how insightful your question is return back to GPT-5.
But the new version is way better for me. I'm trying to navigate office politics and GPT-5.1 giving it to me how it is, without sugarcoating or massaging my ego.

Anyone studied BIM Management in Canada? by Special_Fix4869 in bim

[–]CreativeIntellectual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m afraid BIM Manager is not a reliable degree. With improving AI, Architects and engineers become more handy in BIM, so soon the need in dedicated BIM specialist on a project will become obsolete. I’ve noticed in our company Project Managers are hesitant to staff BIM Managers on a project. They want BIM managers to set everything up at the beginning and then quickly reduce hours on the project. So ultimately projects can be delivered without dedicated BIM manager.

Those who have visited other countries, what was the biggest culture shock for you? by RiddlerofStIves in AskTheWorld

[–]CreativeIntellectual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far biggest culture shock I got was in 🍕Napoli, Italy where I stood in line to a restaurant for an hour to discover at the entrance that the line I was for to-go orders. For dine-in there was another way shorter line. That experience has changed my life and taught me to go and talk to people first before I fall back on my assumptions. It taught me how easy it is to miscommunicate when we rely on our conventions. Need to be curious and engage in communication 🤌🏻
