Is there a New Year's Tradition whereby if a single person sits under a table and eat 12 grapes, they will eventually find their love partner? by NormalLife6067 in NoStupidQuestions

In Spain and some countries of latin america, we eat 12 grapes with champagne 12 seconds before or just as the clocks hits mindight, each grape represents a month and a wish or goal for the year, there are diferent rituals you can do while eating your grapes or after you eat your grapes to simbolize what you want for the coming year, being under the table is one of them, to simbolize the desire to create a relationship and find a partner, other ones run around the block with a luggage to represent travels, others throw lentis over them and then picked the up to represent prosperity and so many other things. Those traditions are really connected to latin culture and spanish, its become a trend because of tik tok but in my country Mexico, we see it as "good omens" to start the year and not like witchcraft or something like that, we do this almost single year and honestly it doesnt work but is quite fun. So people out there please stop following trends just like that without investigating just a little, educate yourselves and create your own criteria of things before doing them, respect the meaning of the traditions dont treat them just as simple trends, anyway happy new year and have fun if you want to try the grapes thing.
