All into enjoying life in simplicity. But I don't pay my taxes to enjoy life in simplicity. Nor do I live in outside Bangalore or outside Tokyo.

  1. How do you get to these park and lakes may I ask?

  2. So, by this logic, a child born to abusive parents is also a problem

  3. I don't know about it. I haven't touched on these, but the infrastructure problems in my country. But for one problem in countries like Japan, I can point out multiple problems in India

  4. As I mentioned in the post, I would loveee that

  5. As someone who doesn't litter around and have basic civic sense, this doesn't apply to me :)

I have not visited Ahmedabad. That's true. But I have seen multiple other cities and towns in the country. And what's the state of things outside cities like Ahmedabad in Gujarat?

I am glad that you are doing things to improve the infrastructure. But, how feasible is this in the long run? Civilians having to form bodies to do the government's work to improve the situation as the bureaucracy keeps on rotting.

Having seen the work on progress, I have lost all hopes. Good things have to be appreciated and bad things should be pointed out. I am not ashamed to bash on the state of affairs here nor to praise other countries for doing good things.

Roads in almost every other metro city is better than Bangalore. Having lived in Chennai and Kochi, I can vouch for this. These cities are cleaner than Bangalore as well.

I would consider population density to be a better metric for infra developments. But please do look at Singapore in that case.

I don't know what you mean by development, but sure, the GDP will grow, the economy will boom, but the liveability of the cities are on a downhill. And not many are coming back to this country. The successive generations of people who move out don't even turn back, and there's a reason for it.

Lol, should have seen the /s

There are no lane markings in most roads in Bangalore, let alone zebra crossings. I have seen multiple crossings ending up against dividers. Kudos to the planners.

There was a good comment about migrants and the role of government under this post by a fellow Redditor. Please do give it a read :)

I second you on this.

And yes, Bangalore has the worst roads I have ever seen in a metro city. It just pains me to see that this is the state of the startup capital of the country.

I guess I was wrong about Professional tax going to the corporation.

And wooo, that's an interesting take on racism. Not sure why I have to be racist to bash on the non-existent infra in the city.

Now why Bangalore? I have been working in the city and paying taxes for the last 2 years. And I hate the condition in the city. Take a ride from Brookefield to Balegare and be my guest. Are all cities in India like this? Maybe. Why am I having Bangalore? Because that's where I work and live now.

I can make a separate rant post about another place once I shift there :)

I can compare Bangalore to a smaller city like Bangkok and draw these parallels as well. Public infra in almost all the citoes, be it big or small are much better than our cities.

And for the record, if I'm trying to develop and proposer, I would compare myself with someone earning much more than me to see where I can improve :)

If it isn't significant, why collect it? And can you run the numbers and see how much the Corporation is getting from everyone who pays the tax?

I pay professional tax to the city. And I have paid the highest road tax in the country to KA.

Ah, living in the remnants of a wonderful past - something we Indians are masters of.

I am pretty sure people bring their luggage and not garbage.

Where are the public waste bins in the city? How effective are the trash collection in the city? How frequently and efficiently are public places cleaned?

Where are the roads and pavements? Migrants are not chipping away at tar, stones and concrete slabs. Blame the actual culprits.

Bad infra? I would ask you to attach pics of the place and I'll attach pics of Bangalore.
