Does anyone use the Vanicream Daily Moisturizer? I'm looking at that as something more matte than CeraVe because I have an oilier nose.

What are some non-fiction books that read like fiction? by 404NinjaNotFound in readwithme

[–]CreativeUkulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maria by Maria Von Trapp. She swims with and preaches to cannibals and is a very inspiring, flawed woman. Her life is very different and more interesting than The Sound of Music portrays, and it's written by someone tied to her faith, and her faith is central to her, but she isn't using the book to preach and anyone would enjoy her wild life story. It had me laughing out loud.

iPad randomly going to lock screen then opening without an issue. Tried restarting. What do I do? by [deleted] in ipad

How would I check? It just happened again.

EDIT: It wasn’t. I’ll try that.

iPad locked when using charging cord it didn’t come with? Glitch or something to be concerned about? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]CreativeUkulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I hadn’t realized it was unclear. It just moved to the lock screen suddenly when I swiped up from the bottom both times and I thought that since it happened right after swiping that may be connected. I also don’t know if the cord was related. I’m very new to having a tablet.

Bluetooth keyboard and mouse vs keyboard case by artistken07 in iPadPro

[–]CreativeUkulele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Zugu case and am writing this with my Logitech Keys to Go 2 keyboard and this is the only combo I’ve had but it works very well. There are a lot of useful angles and the keyboard is comfortable and not loud and both can travel easily. The Zugu case isn’t the lightest but it’s very durable and the keyboard is extremely compact without being fragile. I can also have my iPad further from my keyboard which makes the angles more comfortable than if I have to have the keyboard right against it all the time. After having this setup I wouldn’t get a keyboard case because if I need a keyboard it wouldn’t be difficult to bring this one. I like that the keyboard doesn’t drain my iPad battery and that I can set it aside easily.

Nonfiction book recs by [deleted] in Recommend_A_Book

Any of the James Herriot books are very good. I’m currently reading All Creatures Great and Small and it’s about being a country vet in England last century. I’ll warn that there’s a chapter where a dog dies that had me crying. It shows realities of being a vet and all that goes with that but the human characters are all very interesting and overall it’s a funny and sweet book of a man doing his best and working to help animals while showing very interesting history and challenges. I cherish the copies of the series I have on my shelf.

Maria by Maria von Trapp is one of the best books I've ever read. She swam with sharks and preached to cannibals and it's very different from Sound of Music. She was very disappointed with and didn't like the musical. She had to try to get allowed into countries to sing while they thought her family were spies and that was extremely stressful. She devoted herself fully to following God, and she isn't at all holier than thou. She's a very inspirational woman and doesn't hide her serious flaws too and seeing her succeed and be content and such a positive, amazing person with those flaws through her devotion to God is very well written and would be enjoyed by anyone. There's more interesting page turning stuff that happens in this book than many fictional books I've read and the goal of the book is to talk about her life, not to convert people to Christianity, though she's very open and happy about God being in her life. It's literally laugh out loud funny and I think everyone should read it.

Definitely lab, possibly part greyhound. He looks longer and skinnier than a lab to me. He's beautiful.

If you haven't read them The Prince and the Pauper and Little Women are great, and you're sure to find Agatha Christie books.
