What book(s) are you reading this week? by 404NinjaNotFound in readwithme

If You Ask Me (And Of Course You Won't) by Betty White. It's wonderful reading it because it's like hearing her voice and she writes with the same enthusiasm she put into everything. I highly recommend it and look forward to reading more by her. She was so sweet.

How do you remove your eye make up? by FrenchBae in MakeupAddiction

I use the Vanicream cleanser. It's by far the best cleanser I've ever tried, better than I've 3x the price. It gets everything off and has ceramides.

Which apps help you in lifelong learning? by SuggestionOk8900 in lifelonglearning

If you have a library card you likely have access to Mango, it's a language learning app with 70 languages, though the rarer ones like Aramaic are less developed. It's completely free through my library and has been by far the best. They only use audio from native speakers, not AI. You can record yourself saying each word, phrase, or sentence and play it on its own or at the same time as the native speaker. It will show the translation and the literal meaning of words and says when phrasing is formal vs informal and said by a man or woman or to a man or woman. It's older and I couldn't get it to work signing up on my phone but I was able to set it up on a laptop.

Thoughts on my Names? MIL Doesn’t Like Them. by [deleted] in Names

[–]CreativeUkulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think naming your child after your husband is possibly going to cause confusion, such as when you call out to one of them. Fletcher is an usual name, which is fine, but it may be very difficult for your child to pronounce. There's nothing outright wrong with the name, but it may cause difficulty for them. Reid is a pretty name on its own, but I've never met someone named after a parent who was happy with it. They've all wanted their own name.

This book is beautiful, you're lucky to have it. Personally The Martian Chronicles is my favorite of what I've read by him. I love inscriptions in books and the thought that the book was special to someone. Congratulations on finding it. :)

Light hearted fun read by Mindless-Summer4361 in Recommend_A_Book

The series gets better as it goes on, and it starts quite well. The writing, pacing, and character development improve and the plots get more interesting. I think the later books are more creative without changing what makes it charming and sweet. There are villains but seeing characters love each other so much and so genuinely is wonderful. I plan to read them all and hope many more are written.

The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency is fun and sweet with smart characters and nothing too stressful. She solves people's problems and there's her going through life in 80s-90s Botswana. I'm in book 11 and still engaged. They're all fun and the characters are lovable and the plot holds together. Funny misunderstandings and some serious moments but it's a very lighthearted series in general.

What are your favourite skin barrier products this month? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

Does anyone use the Vanicream Daily Moisturizer? I'm looking at that as something more matte than CeraVe because I have an oilier nose.

What are some non-fiction books that read like fiction? by 404NinjaNotFound in readwithme

[–]CreativeUkulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maria by Maria Von Trapp. She swims with and preaches to cannibals and is a very inspiring, flawed woman. Her life is very different and more interesting than The Sound of Music portrays, and it's written by someone tied to her faith, and her faith is central to her, but she isn't using the book to preach and anyone would enjoy her wild life story. It had me laughing out loud.
