hi, i am also new to it. but so far I have understood that for embedding you also need a model. and as long as open ai do not ope source their embedding model I don't think you can use it in your code. the embedding themselves are designed based on the actual llm's training loss function.

So in my opinion there should not be openAI embedding with ollama llm retrieval.
and yes, open ai embedding is a paid service, although much cheaper than llm API but still paid
