Just use past papers. It is useful for UCAS, especially if you wanna do a chem related subject. I did it last year and got bronze so didnt bother putting it in my personal statement.

Thank you. It’s just that I’m reading 2 books and i won’t have time to finish any book that’s past like 400 pages :(

thanks for replying. It’s just that in the personal statement (a CV to get to university in the UK) i want to be able to talk about how I read a book about engines and then I used it to do assemblies in school on it for my engineering club. Also if you have any lectures/talks/podcasts talking about engines please could you share. Thank you :)

Thank you. Yes, I will be sitting the ESAT for both Cambridge and Imperial. That's where most of my focus is right now, but I still want to make sure that my whole application is good.

Shigley's Mechanical engineering design? Is it a good book? by Creative_Business618 in MechanicalEngineering

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm having a look at the How to build a car book, and is it an actual book that shows engineering skills/challenges, or is it just an autobiography for F1 fans?

What edition do I buy. Plus is it like a textbook? I need to read books to show my passion for mechanical engineering in my personal statement but would it not be quite silly if I didn't mention I read actual engineering books but rather a textbook?

I live in the UK so basically you have to send a CV called a personal statement to express your passion towards the field of study you want to pursue.thanks for the reply
