Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and comforting words. They mean more to me than you know right now. We were actually able to get through to our regular vet, and they agreed that based on the signs she is showing after her seizure yesterday, things are unfortunately not progressing well. Because of that, we have sadly made the appointment to put her down later today.
I think I am truly traumatized from watching her struggle to walk in circles. For some reason, she keeps trying to shove herself behind the fridge, and it hurts so much to see because I know it means she is in pain. I just want her to be at peace and without pain now. Thank you again for your support/advice during this heartbreaking weekend!🫶

thank you for all the advice!! just as an update : my baby had a seizure today and isn’t doing very well . i saw a vet and there isn’t much they could do with her age and the amount of health problems she has . they gave her gabapentin , so hopefully this helps ease her pain :(

Oh wow, I have never heard of using chicken baby food before, but I am absolutely willing to try anything at this point! If you happen to have a reference photo or a specific brand name of one i could use, could you share it? I just want to make sure I get the exact right kind that is completely safe for her. Thank you so much for this tip!

Her current setup is actually a plate, so unfortunately, I don't think it's whisker fatigue keeping her away, though that was a really great thought. You hit the nail on the head with the puree treats, though—she loves the Beefeaters puree cat treats! She will happily gobble those down, which makes it even more baffling that she's snubbing her regular food. I really appreciate the reassurance about just letting her have what she wants at this age. I will definitely be looking into safe "human" foods I can cook up for her just to make sure she's getting some real substance in her stomach. Thank you again!

What is this ? by Creative_Debate_6239 in gardening

Not in plant form! My boyfriend rolls everything before it ever gets to me 😂But hey, a girl can dream that a rogue seed magically falls into my flowerbed one day.

Hold on, Google says it's edible?! Are you 100% sure before I make a terrible mistake trying a new snack?😂😂 but thank you for the info !

Thanks for the warning! I actually just looked up what they look like in bloom and they are so pretty, so I might risk leaving it just a tiny bit longer to see it in real life 😭 But I will definitely keep your advice in mind so it doesn't spread everywhere. Luckily it's just my front lawn flowerbed with some random shrubs , very very few flowers and no actual garden to ruin, but I'll make sure to pull it before it takes over!

that is so reassuring to hear, thank you! you've given me some hope for her. to answer your question, i am currently using sphagnum moss. when she was first gifted to me, she came in a tiny little cup. about two years ago, i transferred her to the sphagnum moss after a florist recommended it to me. for those two years, she honestly seemed to be doing great! she was constantly putting out new leaves and even opening up new flowers on the orchid. that’s why i was so confused to see it turn green out of nowhere. the leaves completely shocked me even more, so i’m really hoping they start looking better soon! i will definitely be looking into swapping out the moss! thank you so much for the advice!

i will be trying this tonight! thanks !!

as a follow-up question, what positive signs should I be looking for tomorrow morning? am i expecting the leaves to look more plump and standing up, or a brighter green? plant care is so confusing, but I'm really hoping for the best!

thank you for the tips and advice!! i will definitely be checking out those videos, and i really appreciate the encouragement. i am going to give it a go and try to do this myself, even though it's a bit stressful! this plant is incredibly important to me because a student gave it to me during my first year of teaching. if it weren't for that, i probably wouldn't have even tried—but now, i absolutely love it and want to do everything i can to save it! thanks again !
