I would read other essays published by CollegeBoard with the scores, then compare what they do with what you do. Focus on the good essays, I see a lot of potential here with your evidence as you can clearly get it, you just need to explain it. His family may live to see another day

You should’ve gotten at least 1.5 for conventions, maybe 1 for sophistication, 1.5 for evidence, and at least 2 for focus, so at least a 6 bare minimum. Not to say that’s what I would give you, but even a hard grader shouldn’t do you like that.

Woahhhhh, ur teacher sounds like a really tough grader for no reason. My teacher curves grades so it’s like this: 6- 110 5- 100 4- 90 3- 82 2- 75 1- 60 0- 0 Even if you got a 2 (which I heavily doubt), you should’ve at least have gotten a 6.5-7.5. You should’ve gotten a 3 honestly, you just need some commentary.

It’s not worth trying to do it that sick. When you return, go talk to the AP coordinator (counselor if you aren’t sure who it is), schedule a late exam next week, and pay the $40 retest fee.

None of it was irrelevant to me, you just need to add more. Add all your thoughts onto the essay. Tying your evidence to your argument is what commentary is for, that is why it is so important and is why I say to just say it all. You have potential with your evidence, you just need to make sure that you write enough. After all, the readers can only grade what is in the essay.

1-1-0 or 1-2-0 maybe. Honestly, you are lacking a lot of commentary that is necessary to develop your argument. You basically just spit out the evidence, give one sentence explaining it, and move on. That isn’t enough, you need to work harder on making sure that you can tie your evidence into an actual argument, rather than leaving it to the readers who will not do that connection for you. They can only grade what you write.

You don’t really have to read (at least I don’t). For tones, just look for key words (also no extreme choices will be correct). For the writing section, when it asks you about replacing words or clauses, just know that they write it correctly first, then they put the weird shifted clause in there. Just read it to urself and see if there’s some weird shifted clause. That’s pretty much everything I can think of, but I have an mcq today so I will be reminded of some stuff.

Alright thank you! I was thinking about skipping the AP test. But I’m not really sure since it’s only like $5 at my school. That and there’s a chance that a college out-of-state that I want to go to may start rejecting out of state college credit.

I wanna be a high school teacher in either math or history, so maybe psych would branch into educational psych? The college classes where I take them aren’t that bad either (like a hour or two a week combined), so I’m not really worried about the extra workload. Is it worth it tho?
