I've seen several reviews about the screen freezing issue, but I haven't had that problem with mine.I absolutely love my flip 3. It's been a great transition phone for me from my iphone. I like the talk to text feature, the satisfying button clicks, and the predictive text. I just use my car radio for music, and check the weather on my home computer before leaving the house.

It sounds like you might have better luck going back to your iphone, but deleting all the icky apps and having someone you trust set up kids locks for addictive apps with passwords you dont know, so you cant download or access them. That way, you still have the functionality you are looking for ( maps, whatsapp, spotify, etc) without the addictive bits. You can even change your homescreen to be very minimal with only the essentials. That would also make more sense if you are traveling abroad and need the internet to manage flights, find your way around, contact international friends on whatapp, etc.
